Hello,
Can anyone give me a clue on how to open a cover disk that came with issue 132 of 3dworld?
I did get issue 17 of 3D artist which had Carrara 7Pro on the disc with it which works fine.
Then I read on the forum that 3Dworld was going to have Mimic Pro for Carrara on its disc 133.
So thought I would have a look at issue 132 !!!
At last heres the point.....the disc opens as far as the area where you have to accept the terms of opening the CD and just keeps trying to load, so the load symbol is always displayed.....and makes it not possible to click on the accept button........stuck!!
Have tried contacting the publisher but they just do not reply.
Tried the disc on another Pc just the same.
Went back to the newsagent who changed it for me tried it again......same result no deal!!
Even tried the boiling water trick.....nope that didnt work either.
I would like to get this sorted as if issue 133 rocks up and is the same.......
Seems to be a few of these discs out there and was wondering if anyone can help please?
Thanks.

Are you sure that it isn't a DVD? A DVD will not work in a computer with a CD player/recorder. Jan

Both the 3dartist and 3dworld discs are DVD's. I have had similar issues with older DVD's and what I do is to browse to the DVD via Computer and then open the DVD by right clicking on the DVD icon and select "Explore" from the Drop-down list.

3DArtist is a CD, unfortunately. This means it's necessary to install the windows content
in the OS X version of carrara because there wasn't enuff space for mac content.
3dworld is dual-sided DVD.

Thanks to you all for your replies.
Benney. I tried as you suggested , right click "explore" and yes that opened out the cd/dvd but could not get any further than that as by this time the agreement panel had loaded and the load symbol was up again and this blocks any further attempts to open the contents file!!
"Square One.....Re-visited".
As I mentioned 3DArtist disc works perfect.
3DWorld disc just hope-less. and they dont even respond to requests for help from thier so called support team.
Might just as well frisbie it out the window.
Again thanks for trying to help.

ARRRGHH!!! Don't frisbee the disc!!!!!
I just picked up the 3DWorld issue with both Carrara 7 Pro and Mimic and it installed fine. There didn't appear to be a button to install directly from the DVD though, so I clicked on the open folder containing files (or whatever it was).
If none of the above works, than you may have a bad disc. Or, if only 1 side of the disc works, then it may also be a bad disc. There is a contact listed in case such a problem arises.
If the disc works on another computer or drive, than you may have a bad DVD drive or it is only a CD drive. I have had drives go out of alignment and some discs work and others don't. It eventually gets worse, so I ended up buying another drive.
If you can see the contents of the DVD through your OS's Explorer, than just go to the folder and install from there. This may also indicate a bad or corrupted DVD in which the part of the disc that loads the program is pooched.
Hope this gives you some things to try and narrow down the problem.

***Hi Adinelt,
thanks for your help and advice.
Yes have been there done that but no luck.
One thing you mention " Double sided dvd" ?
Nope mines not double sided..........not to play !!
After three attempts to contact 3Dworld I had a reply asking me if I had the most
recent version of Adobe Flash Player installed (which I do) now they are sending me a
replacment disc.
So at this point in time "am holding my breath" lol.
Thanks Blueblott
