I have a questiona regarding props that are saved as pp2s & MAT Poses.  I use Poser 6.   I'd like to combine the DAZ & Poser Mats (pz2)  into one file in the Pose folder for distribution.  I've read that you must have a figure loaded in the scene in order for Poser to read the pz2 files.  I've editing the pz2s to use "actor $CURRENT".   Problem is that you STILL have to have a figure (cr2) in the scene in order for the pz2s to load to the prop (at least in P6).  Is there a way to have the pz2s be readable without having to load a figure?  If there is, can someone please tell me what to change in order to get pz2s to load without having to load a figure?   If there is no other way of doing it, do later versions of Poser also force you to load a figure in order to load pz2s to props?
Thanks to all in advance for the info!
Lynn

No idea if will work in Poser or not but this fixes it for DS.

Copy the first 'prop ' line in the pp2 (minus the :1 or similar number) and replace the 'figure' line in the pz2 with it.

Like I said I have no idea if this will work in Poser.

You can load a dummy figure, there were a few around to solve the old crosstalk problem. Otherwise you can use a material collection  which will work with only a prop in the scene.

It's pointless trying to use the same MAT poses for both Poser and D|S, as some settings don't correspond.

So forget MAT poses, make MC6s for Poser, and proper D|S settings files.

Given with time, mtl collections will become the new standard for applying textures in current editions of Poser.  As markschum mentioned, the collections will work with figures and props, and are less troublesome than MATPose files.

Nope, doesn't work.

I made separate mats (changed the mc6 file to a pz2).  I guess I'll just use MC6s & make separate files for DS & Poser.
Thank you all for the information & for pointing me in the right direction.

You can rename the pz2 to cm2 and place it in a camera folder, but the prop must be addressed as "actor". It will then work when no figure is in the scene (also see this thread). This relates to Poser. I have no knowledge of what works in DS.
