This probably has been asked a thousand times but I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.
When I make a custom transparency map and apply it in the Poser (P8) material room, I get a "ghost" image of the original texture - in other words, the part I'm trying to make transparent still shows as a faint image.
What settings should I be using for the various material room parameters?
TIA
W.

Make sure transparency is set to 1 (obviously). Then make sure that transp. edge and falloff are at zero.
In this case it looks like the relevant area is picking up one or more of ambient, specular, translucence, alt diffuse, alt specular (etc) but these should be at zero. The mask you already made could be inverted to restrict those things only to the visible material.

Easy peasy :)
This used to drive me crazy too.
Link your Transparency Map ALSO to the Specular VALUE input.
