I have the same problem. Some times when I want to delete andy when poser starts up it does that. think you must clear the cache in poser or something, I dont know.

The White Screen indicates that the Operating System shut the Program down. There should be a Report. If you contact Support with the details, we may be able to tell you what is happening..
Note: the clicking twice will sometimes cause the OS to think something is wrong, Poser was most likely doing the delete (creating the undo) after the first click and the second click led to the OS shutting the program down. You may need to remove your Prefences if this happens to prevent the issue from being encountered again and again.
Some things to try if this does happen is check your undo count in Preferences. Pay attention if it is specific content or if the figure has specific morphs added. I encountered a Prop that had an error, that left some ghosts when you deleted. This prop would sometimes crash Poser when deleting. I suspect because of the data that got left behind. The Vendor fixed the item once it was discovered and they were notified.

If you want to bypass the Undo feature, hold shift down while clicking delete on your keyboard. This will hasten the delete process. However, you will not be able to take a step backwards if you want to restore a previous scene.

V01f - you might want to consider EDITING your GENERAL PREFERNCES so that andy is not in your default Poser start up.
delete andy, then set this in the general preferences by setting the current state w/o the figure.
This simple adjustment changed my life for the better.

It will be no consolation to you, but this behavior doesn't happen with the Mac version of PP2010.
If you want to start with an empty scene when you start up Poser, delete Andy and make any other changes in lighting, cameras, preview window, etc. that you want to see every time. Then go into Preferences and set it to Launch to Preferred State (instead of Factory State). Then click the Set Preferred State button. Now it will launch with all the settings you made to the scene.

Maybe this is too obvious to mention but make sure you are running as administrator.
