I would have asked this at the 2D forum, but it seems kind of dead.

Anyhow, does anybody know if the current Intuos stylus works with the older tablets? I know for sure the Graphire one doesn't. (I don't understand why they'd break compatibility like that when the functions supported in the stylus seem exactly the same.)

I'm asking this, because I managed to get an Intuos2 6x8 USB on eBay for $80. But it only had a mouse included. In working order and no obvious scratches, so I think I did ok. (A bit funny in retrospect I think, because the other tablet I bid on with the stylus included went higher than the price of a new one.)

I do consider this an upgrade from my Graphire3. (Which is what got me hooked.) I ran through the tablet control panel and did the CTRL-click on the about to get the diagnostic. I'm surprised at how much greater the resolution/range is. (I knew it was more, but not by what factor.)
