I realize I'm raising the bar for stupid questions here- but i have a demon character i need to create and I can't figure out how to give V4 a really long tongue, or in fact how to stick her tongue out of her mouth at all-
aren't there morphs somewhere that should be able to stick out her tongue?
thanks!

The problem with the stock V4 tongue is that the rig there is extremely sensitive to being scaled, and your alternative is to try to morph it, but the base morph is a bit hard to work with. I ended up modeling a tongue from scratch and rigging that (sample in my avatar at left). Evidently a lot of people feel the same way because it's my most popular commercial item by a big margin. Plus it's just plain fun to use imho :)

you can select the root of the tongue and I thing its one of the translate dials to stick it out.

What those dials do is scale the bones, and regrettably they do that very poorly. The stock tongue is modeled in a curled up pose, and the bones all have to be bent to straighten it out and then scaled. The TongueLength dial is capped at 1, and when you override the limit and make it longer, the mesh goes nuts when bent (and you only have three bones to work with anyway).
Edit: huh, just checked and it's not curled up in zero pose after all, I wonder if that changed since the earlier releases of V4. I hadn't bothered with the stock tongue in quite a long time.
Duh, Markschum I completely misunderstood what you were suggesting, that's a very good suggestion.

She can, but Michael wishes she could do it better.

Whilst I don't own it myself, Flesh Forge's Tongue Plus looks pretty good to me.

With all the rotations of the tongue zeroed, the tongue does point upwards at an angle of around 45 degrees. Perhaps the impression of curl up is because the actors are rotated in the default pose.
Many of the dials in the tongue are hidden by default. Attached above is the text of a pose file to show all the transform dials in the V4 tongue.

You're probably right, yeah. When I was modeling my own I concluded that the only way that made any sense was to start with the tongue straight out in zero pose and work from there.
