please excuse me if I ask a dumb question

Here at Rero ist the announcement for this

Black Friday Sale! Save 60% on software at SmithMicro.com. Use code BLACKFRIDAY2010. Valid Nov. 23-29, 2010. "Station" not included.- - - - - -

Si I logged in at my SM Account - took the sidegrade for Poser 2020 and If I check out were to pute the code on?

A code is not a coupon am I right?

I have at SM a Reward Coupon that will match

but the Code below Black Friday1010 doesnt match so were to put it in to get the 60%?

A friend of mine did it and it worked out with the siedegrade

i chattet with SM and the men said just the full version matches

my friend has bought the sidegrade and saved the 60% and could use the Code

I am a bit confused ;-(((

please excuse me and don´t be mad at me

Same coupon at CP for those interested.

The two emails I got (one for SM and one for CP) have the rider :-

Quote - One per customer. Not valid with any other offers, discounts, trials or special upgrade pricing. Sale ends 11/30/2010 at 11:59pm PST. This offer is not available on any hardware products.

so it depends on what they've classified as "special upgrade pricing", meaning either your friend got lucky, or you're not choosing exactly the same item/pricing combination.

pattyh1970 posted Tue, 23 November 2010 at 1:35 PM

special upgrading prices may means a discount of the regular up- and sidegrade pricing?

Regular upgrade price for Poser2010 will be 249$

She said with the black Friday Code she got the Upgrade Price for 100% instead of the regular 249$

maybe I am too stupid ;-(

pattyh1970 posted Tue, 23 November 2010 at 2:00 PM

Now it worked ;-))

At the SM Page itself it didn´t work an the code did not match

At the CP Page I did it now again and what shall I say it worked

the Code worked and I upgraded for 100$ the 60% are dialed!

At the SM Costumer Chat the Helper said it just would work on Full Versions and this would be cheaper instead upgrade 249$ the fullversion - the 60% Code 200$

the upgrade would not be ment with the 60%

If at CP is no Bug with the Code to count than the Information in the chat was wrong

I don´t know, but I am quite happy the Code worked and I could upgrade my 7 to 2010 Yeehaawww

I didn't have any problems using the Black Friday coupon code for the sidegrade from Poser 8 to PoserPro2010 ... got the physical sidegrade for $100.

Since my birthday is next week ... Happy Birthday to me!

Probably one of the most important side-grades you've ever made, Victoria. PP2010 is the significant upgrade... it has features you are going to wonder how you did without. Interestingly, I still do use Poser 7 on my laptop because it is so stable, and it wouldn't run PP2010 properly. P8 seemed to me a testing ground for PP2010. And they got it right in PP2010.

Happy birthday to YOU, Victoria!

Thanks for the early Birthday wishes, Patty and Robyn!

Kinda went overboard this year with upgrades, did the sidegrade to Vue 9 Complete last week and, now, this one but everyone I've talked to says PP2010 is THE way to go so I jumped on it when I found out the coupon worked.

Looking forward to getting it since I ordered the Physical version rather than the digital, the price was the same.

maybe it sounds stupid,  but what is the difference bewtween upgrade and sidegrade?

I always upgraded or updated my progs I use

with my GFX Soultion it was equal for the updates which full version I had as basic

p.e. if I had the version 4 full I could upgrade to version 6 without to upgrade the 5 before

so how is it with Poser?

Upgrade is Poser Pro to PP2010.  Sidegrade is Poser 8 to PP2010...

Poser 8 and PoserPro2010 are the latest versions of their line of product. Poser Pro is a different Product to standard Poser. So, with a sidegrade, you are moving to a different - in this case, Professional - product. With an upgrade, you are going to a newer version of the same product.

the coupon is not applicable to any software, right? only to SM's own products? i recall they had a sale for their entire store once. i never saw that repeated yet.

I just got an SM email for Poser 7... I see some talking about how stable it is, and since I'm still using 5, wondered if it was worth the $49 for someone who uses poser couple of times a month for an art background. (I'm on mac)

Here it is for $40. I can't speak for Mac, but the Windows version is rock-stable... so much so that I still use it for certain things even though I now have PP2010, which is equally stable.

You're not alone, Robyn ... my PP 2010 came yesterday so I've not had much time to play with it but I have every version from 6 up installed (except the Poser Pro that came before 8) just to test compatibility.
