when i apply a material such as a rock material to an object and animate the object across my screen, the material moves across the object instead of staying in one place on the object. What am I doing wrong?

It's like Rorschach's mask in the Watchmen if you know what I mean.

yeah but I'm using a mixed material and set both to object and also the mix, but I still have animation going on in the blend area.

EDIT:figured it out...I had more than two materials...ugh.

One other question, when a frame finishes rendering on the last step before a new frame it becomes blurry and renders that way in Broadcast setting but not final. I've turned off any motion blurring etc but still can't get a sharp image, any ideas?

That's normal I think. When using Broadcast and up, Vue switches automatically to the soft AA strategy. This is to avoid flickering, and should be left as is. Other AA strategies (sharp and crisp) will introduce flicker in your materials.
