That's my life - going in circles on a weekly basis

rockstrider posted Fri, 03 December 2010 at 4:59 AM

Well, this gives me a chance to show you what I do for a living - industrial photography that would not usually be suitable for my gallery uploads. It is not photo-art but photo-documentary, yet still has to contain an artistic element.

I am in the middle of doing a big job for the Telstar Group - an international company that makes isolation equipment for the pharmaceutical industry, as well as many other projects such as life sciences.

The photos are taken on the workshop floor and then photoshopped to replace backgrounds, airbrush surfaces, correct colour, create shadows/reflections etc.

rockstrider posted Fri, 03 December 2010 at 5:03 AM

Thes are tray storage carts - liquid drugs are pumped into the trays and then freeze-dried. The carts keep the trays free of any possible contamination between processes.

This is an Autoclave RAB. Canisters containing powdered drugs are processed in this unit.

And finally a Tunnel RABs. Trays containing liquid drugs are processed in this unit.

So, that's me and a small sample of my work - something that I never thought would appear as an upload at Renderosity - it just goes to show that you never know! lol.

So you will have to miss the little Roe animation even though it is repeating its movements LOL

Oh yes, Helle,

He looks great, nice for the big work.
I clean the brushes with old-fashioned 'green' soap, they remain soft then.

Hye, hey, If I'm better, maybe I'll pick a few of those nice ones, watch out! :D

Faemike55 posted Sat, 11 December 2010 at 2:37 PM

Great images all of you!

auntietk posted Sat, 11 December 2010 at 3:11 PM

I would LIKE to say, Helle, that I hope "brushes out" means you'll be painting soon.  But I am not going to say that, because if I do, you'll be on MY behind to start painting soon, as well!  LOL!  So I will just think about it quietly and NOT ask you to paint something!

TomDart posted Sat, 11 December 2010 at 7:45 PM

This last group of images is great.  I really like the way each of us translates the idea "patterns and repitition".   That means in this like other challenges, each does his or her thought on it and nothing is boring.  This is much fun indeed and yes, a challenge.

Paint brushes? I have done two paintings on canvas with acrylics.  The brushes are long gone as are the paintings.  My best brushes are here with me..I wash them several times a day and also use them to type this post.      Ha Ha.  Tom.

Nice one Mike! You have repitition and patterns in both type of bricks as well as the little windows! Very well seen!

Here is my first one, now that I'm back from Texas. This one is a window shade in my daughter's bedroom.

whaleman posted Thu, 16 December 2010 at 3:15 AM

And my second shot are the chairs lined up for my daughter's convocation at University of Texas at Austin. The pattern of the chairs told me right away that I had my second entry.

whaleman posted Thu, 16 December 2010 at 3:17 AM

And my third entry is an old wall in a building on UT's campus. These were once a mail pickup area I believe. I am amazed at all the fine entries so far — very enjoyable!

I remember clamoring around similar mail boxes...all those students hoping for money from home!  I once in school scanned a letter too quickly then tossed it in a big disposal bin next to mail boxes , only to be seen with my feet sticking out later..had to find that letter in case there was money inside.   There was.

Neat shots.

That is nauseous repetition, Andrew!

After my recent ride at our Ratanga Junction, the group I was with wished they had taken before/after shots of me – I was as white as a sheet, nauseous and unable to walk straight.

I will watch and take pictures, not ride again!
