I just found a cute free character Deco at http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/mowais/freestuff/freestuff.html

This is how Deco is posed as one of the "difficult" poses that odf's Antonia has.

Deco 3 pose

Of course, odf's Antonia do much better.  In fact, Deco has no JCM, no magnet!  I don't expect it can do that good.

I think Deco will be a good candidate for an action figure.  I'm going to make an outfit for her soon.

Decoco is very cute too!

She's been around for a while-Maybe is her male counterpart.  If you search over at the DAZ forum there are some morphs for her.

The site hasn't been updated since last March and the Blog is dead, so I hope that Akatora hasn't abandoned her...

They're a lot of fun to play with.

Thanks for the link.

I wonder why all these free characters are not popular and "abandoned" by their creators, it is really sad!

Yeah, Deco is cool.  Hey, Amy, you made the Amy Aiko 3 character didn't you?  Awesome work btw!

amy_aimei posted Mon, 13 December 2010 at 6:11 AM

Yes, I did.  Amy Aiko 3 is based on Aiko 3.  I'm still learning how to rig a character properly.  It is not the same as someone that made "Original Character".  They are great!

I like Amy, she looks like a real person.

Amy V3 is very nice too!  😄

Thank you for your compliments.  If you read the readme file of the package, you will know why she looks like a real person.

I tried to do the same with V4, it is not so well, maybe, V4 is too complicated.

The only thing I dont care for with Deco or Decoco is the textured plane eyes as they are designed to use in a toon shader style..I guess you could always take v4's or the BBeye prop and parent to the head.

Last I heard Akatora was having some major health issues with extended stays in hospital, but he seemed to be getting over them, but then everything went quite again  I hope he just got fedup with the poserverse.

I do wish him the best.  I really enjoyed posing his figures.  His site hasn't been updated in a while though.

Does he ever visit Renderosity?

I'd seen Deco in toon renders, but I hadn't seen her in a 3D render before. She's cute! I may end up downloading her. I have a half-finished Photoshop painting that I want to duplicate in 3D and I need an anime-ish figure that's a little more "serious" looking than Aiko 3.
