I'm looking at making my Poser work more efficient.
What do you have that supports your Poser work?
I have Photoshop so don't need that suggestion.
What works best for you?

details of your workflow that you don't think are efficient would be useful...

I'm not understanding the question either, but if you're talking about post work, I use Paint Shop Pro, that is, if I do any post work. Most of my renders don't need it done.

Paul's question about workflow is an essential one to answer. It will be different if you model your own figures or if you create your own materials or if you're pedantic about materials and lighting etc. For instance, I consider Bagginbill's Matmatic and VSS essential tools for my workflow. Also, Dimension3D's Poser File Editor and Morphing Clothes, and PhilC's Obj2Cr2 for importing conforming cloth. But I'm still getting my head around the Cloth Room, and I'm sure there's some amazing stuff for that. Probably one of my key tools that I use for Poser is Blender3D.

Some kind of mapping software, UVMapper etc. I feel is a vital part for going forward.
Michaelab posted Fri, 24 December 2010 at 4:49 PM
I guess I'm talking about within Poser, like plugins, apps, add-ons that make the process of posing, character morphing, clothes fitting and creating more efficient and produce a better quality character. But what you all have come up with so far seems like a good start.

Programs/utilities i always seem to use in relation to Poser are:
"Mover101" for decoding or encoding stuff
"RTEncoder" (as above)
Morphmanager (as the name states)
UVMapper
"Morphing clothes" by Dimension3d
"Hexagon" for creation of morphs and stuff
"Mirrormags32" by Les Bentley
"Spawncharacter" python script by SVDL
bopperthijs posted Fri, 24 December 2010 at 7:05 PM
I use:
Zbrush, Modo, Hexagon and Rhino3D for morphing and modelling (mostly rigid objects)
Daz|studio advanced with animator+, and figure-setup tools for anything I can't do in poser.
Paintshop pro, seamless factory, UVmapper and crazybump for texturing.
Crossdresser, wardrobe wizard and morphing clothes for transforming cloths from one model to another.
cr2-editor, morphmanager, autogroup editor, Quickconform and morphing clothes for making conforming clothes.
Virtual Fashion and recently marvelous designer 2 for making dynamic clothes, although sometimes I also use Rhino, modo or Hexagon for it. Zbrush is less suited for this, because it make double-sided objects.
Baggingbill's VSS-tools for making good skin shaders.
Renderosity poser forum for learning almost anything I needed.
best regards,
Bopper.

Keep in mind, you mentioned plugins for Poser to conduct a workflow within Poser. There are more than ample selections of python scripts, both for free & purchase, which can ease your creativity, but they are no substitutes for the numerous software every one have suggested to expand your knowledge. As Robynsveil states, it depends on your interests and goals.

Hmm, you guys have some really good suggestions, but I'm shocked there's not one link to any of them, how's anyone supposed to even know what you're talking about if they don't have a link to 1) learn about it and what it does, 2) download it if it's free, and/or 3) decide to buy it if it's a pay product? lol. Even I have no clue where to begin.

It is a perfect replacement of the Poser library and much more comfortable.

...quite a respond there, I'd say more, but I'll just say this, do you honestly believe a newbie or one that doesn't know much about these programs (referring to the original poster), would even know where to search? Guarantee, if you said that on Daz forums, you'd get more responds "not" in your favor.

Well, in defense of me, the original poster, most items mentioned above can be fairly easily found by doing a search for them. There were a few things mentioned I couldn't find but imagine I could with a little more persistance.
But searching for a little while I don't yet know what Mover101, RTEncoder do and where I can get Bagginbill's Matmatic or find out what it does.
Thank you all for all the great tips. I'm checking out every one of them. Some really great stuff here.

Relax... I was kidding, Wolfie. I'm on my iPhone, so doing embedded links is a bit challenging, but I'll try to point you to what I know off the top of my head. Blender3D can be found at http://www.blender.org. Morphing Clothes and Poser File Editor are by Dimension3D, here in the Renderosity marketplace. Do a
menu Marketplace
Search
and enter "poser file"
pretty sure that will get you straight to the product. Or, using the vendor dropdown, find Dimension3D and you'll see all his fine products.
For anything by Bagginsbill, you'll find a link to his site in his signature.
Sorry for my rather flippant answer before, but there have been * so* many exhaustive threads on this here in this forum: doing a simple search on "morcloth" or "editor" or "wings3d" would doubtlessly have landed you on one of the threads. Plus, not everyone knows how to - or in my case, is able to - embed links.

That's cool, RobynsVeil, I had no clue you were kidding :)
I've no clue how to embed links here too (actually I forgot the html code lol). But since Rendo doesn't want to make it easy on us by giving us back the "link" button with this lame new forum script we have, I'll just write out the urls (or copy/paste) and the people can copy/paste the urls to get there.

Bernie,
Select some text where you want the link, such as the product name, (or the URL written out, as I usually do) click the little chain icon at the middle left, and paste in the link...
Here is Matmatic:

I also couldn't be without Pose Magic Pro. It's available here at the store. It really takes the tedious out of posing. You could also check out some of the python additions over at RDNA like the library and material manager.
estherau posted Mon, 27 December 2010 at 5:54 AM
I own nearly all semidieu's scripts from runtimedna.com
so for example, if i want to delete all the clothes and wristwatch and handbag from my V4 figure I just open his script and check all the boxes for the things I don't want and hit delete, same if I just want to make the invisible.
If I have a group of things in a scene and I want to parent them to a ball and move the ball around I again use a script.
If I want to find all the materials with a certain ambient colour and then change that colour I can do it again with his script.
If I want to turn shadows on for all the lights in a scene, if I want to change a whole group of materials in one hit, if I want to load a whole group of runtimes into my poser library, or if I want to load a whole lot of clothes in a folder, and conform and magnetize them all to V4 in one hit etc.
Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
philebus posted Mon, 27 December 2010 at 6:36 AM
I have to agree with estherau, Semidieu's scrips at Runtimedna are a major boon.
I use his library over that included in Poser, finding it both more versatile and a whole lot faster.
If you use any of RDN'a lighting studio products, you will find his support scripts make them much easier to work with.
Also, if you use the PICK products, he has support scripts that makes working with them much, much easier.
You should also check his scrips for setting up lighting, his scene manager, and Advanced Render Settings - a major boon that also gives you multi pass rendering.
Also at RDNA, you should check out Netherworks scrips. If you use a lot of scripts, then his Palette Master will help you set them up for easy access. He has quite a few handy scripts though, adding things like a camera menu bar, and lights to your memory dots!
If you want to do any morphing in other programs, such as full body morphs or adjusting a figure once it is posed, then the Pose Morph Loader by colorcurvature is available here at Renderosity.

ShaderSpider, over at DAZ. It is great for making a change on one part of the texture and then assigning it to all those things that have the same mapping. I would hate to have to copy and paste changes as I am working with character creation.

This was mentioned earlier but here's the link for "Morphing clothes" by Dimension3d

This really helps make clothing fit if your figures uses a lot of morphs in it's body shape. It's simple, but it works...
