Situation
I have a prop parented to a figure.
I animate the prop's ambient value node in the material room.
I adjust the shader node parm dial in the parent body.
Problem
Saving the material does not save the keyframes. Saving the object as a pose does not save the material.
Question
Is there a way to save that animated material so it can be recalled with keyframes intact?
So far the only way I have been able to save this to the Poser library is to save the whole prop in the Props library.
It would seem if I could save an animation to the Pose library and I can save a material as a pz2 then I should be able to jam the appropriate info into one file.
Anyone? Anyone?
Lamentations
Tuts, manuals, and forum searches have not hinted at what I thought would be obvious.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would have expected the only way to do this is saving them into a scene file. I'm actually kinda surprised it's saved into a prop.

I would try combining material file and pose file in one pz2.
This should work, as long as the parameter is set to animated when applying the pose file.
Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

As the animated material parameters are on the Body, if you have P8 or newer, choose to include Body settings when saving the pose, for older versions you'll have to edit them in from a saved scene file.

Oh this works now? Good to know, I hadn't touched it since I first got started with Poser 7. That's really handy actually.

One Correction
The test I started with was on a body part.
The actual scene/problem is with the prop. The props animated material nodes appear in the prop's numeric window, not the body as previously mentioned.
First, thanks for the responses.
Second, the suggestions were pretty much the way I was headed and before I started hacking thought I would ask for a more elegant solution if one was known.
The Result
Using the same syntax as an animated pz2 it pretty much just ignored me except that it did extend the scene the proper number of frames for the animation. What it didn't do was add any keyframe values to the channels.
The attempt to combine the animated channels with the same information that would be in a Mat pz2, well, Poser wouldn't even recognize that.
Multiple iterations of trimming what might be offensive lines or adding what I thought it might lack resulted in no reaction or an error stating that it was not a Poser file.
Thanks for the help. I will have to leave it til after the weekend.
Happy New Year to all
