Subject: Bowing when rendering

How would I stop like lets say table legs from bowing out when rendering -- they become fat in some places of the legs and not other place -- they are not stright

in the tables properties, turn off Smoothing. that should fix it.

On the rare occasion that that doesn't fix it, run the object thru UV Mapper Classic and split the vertices. Then reimport and reapply the textures. Hopefully unchecking the smoothing does it for you ;).

Select that prop and uncheck "smooth polygons" in Parameter Dials.

If your version of poser has it , you can change the smoothing angle rather than turn smoothing off entirely.  If the model is a product for Poser it should be brought to the makers attention.

I agree, unless this is a VERY old model anything that was modeled for use in Poser shouldn't behave like this.

Yeah. Very easy to keep it from happening in the modeling stage. If it's something recent, perhaps you might give a head's up to the creator ;o).
