So I finally got myself a nice new Canon Rebel T1i for Christmas and here's my beef! I'm going from an old Sony with just an LCD Viewfinder to a real camera and I can't seem to break the habit of putting my eye up to the LCD instead of the viewfinder and I'm getting oily nose prints all over the LCD. How do I break a 15 year old habit? LOL!

Cur off your nose.  Worse case scenario you spite your face.

Hehe... I was thinking of wearing one of those cotton face masks over it that they wore in China when SAR's was a big threat.

Lol you will get used with looking through the view finder. Just keep on practicing.

LOL! Put a red plastic ball on the nose before you try to take a shot. The red ball will be in the way when you try to use the LCD and the display wont be oily. A week like that and you have learned it. ;-)

You could also try to put a duct tape on the LCD :-)

Congratulations with your new camera :-)

You will get used to the new camera. Play with it every day, in the house..outside etc. Just photograph anything for the sake of it...you will break the habit....try not to get a runny nose in the mean time

There are a number of optical viewfinder/eyepiece extenders available that you may want to look at.  The link provided is to Amazons listing. They range from cheap to high end.

Oh! I like that idea! A Clown Nose! Hehehe.... Now I need to find one! :tt2:

The actual eyepiece is a much truer way to shoot. A LCD is 'snot' the way to go!

Seriously though, I have used a Zigview and I don't think it's as good as the original eyepiece. Especially outside in strong light.

I followed JC's link and looked at these:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0018BTPLK/ref=sr_1_2_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1295585213&sr=8-2&condition=new

But I think the clown nose is gonna win this month anyway because I've already dropped a good $200 on extra's like wide angle and Telephoto and Fisheye lenses and a new bag to carry everything in plus a set of Macro lenses. I'm probably forgetting something but let me just say I found a lot of toys on eBay to go with the camera and I'm already eyeballing more lenses. LOL! I think this is gonna be worse than my Poser Addiction!
