Today I pop in to my Rendo wish list to finnaly buy Aery Soul's Ars Magica - special edition.....and it was gone!! Well thats a bit weird...
So I went looking for it in the market place...and its not longer avaiable!!
What happened? it was there last week. I got some birthday money and thought I would treet myself (a bit more ;) )
If someone could point me in the direction of another online stone that dose stock Aery soul's product that would be great!
or if Ars Magica is really no longer avaiable ( :( ) can some one surgest another outfit for v4 along the same lines & style.
Many Thanks

Hi.. I don't see ANY products from them here anymore... That is strange...
LaurieA posted Sat, 05 February 2011 at 11:33 AM
They made an announcement a while back that they were retiring from the Poser product biz.

I know they have been posting their old promo images on dA lately. Might try to send them a note and see if they would be willing to arrange a private purchase? Upsetting for sure, I hadn't picked up everything from them I wanted either, just never seemed to have the extra cash.
toastie posted Sat, 05 February 2011 at 12:46 PM
Aery Soul have updated their own website and removed the link to their store here, but they still have a few products for sale at other stores right at the moment.

Truely a shame, I know someone who has bought everything they made... They had a great talent for design.
Seaview123 posted Sat, 05 February 2011 at 1:46 PM
Their stuff is definitely extremely well made and visually striking. I really hope that they come back to the 3D world soon, I'm a big fan!
Ghostofmacbeth posted Sat, 05 February 2011 at 3:16 PM
Someone e-mailed them at DA and they responded saying that the close was intentional and that the products may appear someplace sometime but not now. There is a thread at DAZ.

Well, if anyone can pull it off, they sure can, and have in the past as well.
When they made the announcement that they would stop making any more products they also said they would give people some notice so that we could get anything we wanted before it was pulled. And they did just that with their older V3 stuff (including discount prices). Naturally it was assumed the V4 products would get the same treatment but I guess they didn't think much of their customers this time. It's inconsistencies like these that put some people off (myself included).

Hmmm...that's not really the feeling I got, but I guess along the same lines ;o). I'll stop there...lol.
edit: I'm with Kalypso on this one ;o).

Wow. Me thinks they would be moving to another site that demands exclusivity or they will set up shop on their own site. Once you have the name brand going who wants to split sales?
I do I do .... I love you rendo, don't kill me....

I tried to find some of their tutorials a few weeks ago and found their website purged of Poser info. Now this!
Their DAZ and RDNA stores are still open -- but most of the good stuff was here. The RND products are still on their site, but the purchase links no longer work. Ouchhhh....
Dave-So posted Sat, 12 February 2011 at 8:39 AM
it would be nice to know what REALLY happened with Aery Soul. They were flying along as one of the best vendors of Poser stuff. Great customer service. The web site wa sinteresting. Very good free stuff. It appeared all was going very well with them...
then it all ends pretty much.
WHY?

I do enjoy Alice.

i realize that, but it would still be nice to know.
They were on top of the hill here, plus had a very big fan and customer base. Sometimes we just need to know those things, even if they're not good reasons...like we're just sick of creating and selling things to you inconsiderate people...or I got divorced and I'm just devasted, or my computer blew up and I can't afford a new one casue my car blew up too, and my house burned down, so I'm broke.
but sure, sometimes we're all private and stuff or something happens legally within the business that you can't talk about, or whatever ...or you just decide to end it all of a sudden and don;t feel the need to talk about it.
I understand .... but it would still be nice to know. why?
I think what bothers me is that everyhing is top secret anymore. People get let go at work..one day they're there, next they're gone...no one ever knows why. I suppose its just none of our business.

ok Dave
lets know all about you then. how much is in your bank account? whats in your fridge. what time did you goto bed last night? what are you doing tomorrow?
tell us!
actually don't. some of us respect this thing called Privacy, even if you don't.

ok .. I have $0 in my ban account. that actually tells you a lot about me and my life
Fridge ..1/2 gal of milk, some lettuce, two hunks of cheese, 2 slices of deli turkey.
I went to bed at 11pm, after falling asleep in my recliner at 8pm and waking up at 10:59
Tomorrow..shoveling snow and going through my old computer stuff so I can give it away..want some?
I understand privacy, I respect it, to a certain point, but I firmly believe most people are too private and afraid of talking to anyone about their personal lives. And in my mind, that brings more impersonalization to society..a closed society, an uncaring society ..
why? we don't know anyone really, we don't care about their lives. It makes it very easy to make them unhuman, as objects, to throw away and forget about, because we don't know them.

Hmmm. Perhaps because he came across as believing he had a right to the info?

we have no rights
hmmm...i don't believe i said i have the right to their reasons. what i said was it would be nice to know why they left ...here and wherever?
none of our business, probably, but as i said, they were a vital part of our "community"..so as a community it would be like polite and stuff to tell us, considering we were a part of their extended family and all....but it is their prerogative to do so or not, and obviously they decided not to. but i was just expressing my opinion that it would be nice to know....
but its like most stuff on the web...no one cares and no one knows, and no one really knows who they are even dealing with. people come and go, they die, they leave, they run away, and no one cares really. Even AS will be long forgotten in a short time.
when rendo shuts down, no one will care or even hardly remember except in some thread at another site when someone makes a post about remember when a lot of us were at rendo?
i guess i actually have some feelings for some of youse guys....i keep forgetting that in this day and age most people only care about themselves and their money.

Dear Dave-So, the internet is even more volatile than real life. It takes a few minutes to remove oneself from a site and then the only remaining trace of you are the wayback machine and dwindling Google lookups.
When I see something that I am interested in, I immediately download the stuff, save webpages/pdfs, save URLs and everything. I do not wait even the next day (I has happened to me not to be able to find again in the morning the stuff I was looking at the evening before).
Bye...
P.S.: about people caring: haven't you ever read in the news about people found in their homes years (or even decades) after their death? in my case the first person to notice my death would be my accountant, when I would not turn up at the end of the year to pay his fee. In a few years the property manager would enact a legal action for me not paying my dues and then one day the police would burst into my home (to enforce the foreclosure) finding my decomposed corpse.

my son was trying to put together wedding invitiations this morning, and we don't really hang out with many people. most of the relatives we haven't seen for years and years and rarely talk to them.
