Does anyone know where I can find a pair of seamless sheer stockings for V4? I need them for a pair of open-toed sandals my character is wearing.

Jasmina has some here in the MP...

Thanks. I checked the outfits she has, and they all have re-enforced toes. I'm looking for something sheer to toe.

Well, there's always Bagginsbill's stocking shader... look at the stickied posts at the beginning of the forum: you'll find the thread.

Unfortunately, his shader doesn't work with open-toed shoes, as stated in the first post of that thread. Otherwise, it looks ideal.

The Lace Lingerie Set, by hongyu has seamless stockings.

Thanks for the tip, but further clarification is apparently in order. ;)
I'm looking for something silky, too. My character is a career woman who's wearing a skirt and heels.

You can apply BagginsBill's shaders to those stockings, though you'll probably have to adjust a few things for best effect.
Fabiana also has a stocking set here at Rendo, though I can't say if that would be what you want.

All you really need is a toe cap, and use bb's nylon shader. Works like a charm. Im sure if you look you'll find a toe cap for free.
grichter posted Mon, 14 February 2011 at 9:59 AM
The Fabrina set comes with a Toe cap that works like a charm with both her shaders and BB's. Use both sets and double your render fun!!! Skin-Vue makes a toe morph that morphs the toes to look like they are in nylons, but the product is expensive.

The first nylon shader I posted was a "second skin" style dual material that was nylon on skin.
If you have an actual clothing prop, you want to use the newer BBNylon shader I posted. I'm linking you to page 5 where the matmatic script can be found, as well as the a second-skin version as an mt5 by Anthanasius.

The other 4 pages detail how I made it from first principles, geometry, the physics of translucent fibers, and math. You don't need to know the math to use it.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
