I thought I will open the dance floor with a shot taken on my recent trip to the US. I found this lost leaf in the snow in Central Park. I do believe the eye is drawn it at first glance of this shot.

Looking forward to see a record number of images this month!

Thanks, dear Carin.
It's a shame I have not done it 2 times to the challenge.
I have a lot of pain to my eyes, and face, f.e.. That's why.

The flower in the picture is a crocus.
I don't know if you had recognized it.
But I suspect so. You all are so smart! ;-)

Wishing you all a very nice day :)

TomDart posted Wed, 02 March 2011 at 2:57 PM

Depending on where you live and the language you speak this might be watercress, berro, cresson de fontaine or echte brunnenkresse....or to Helle, something else.  As a kid we would find the clean streams and pick the peppery greens for a salad ingredient.

A walk in the woodland today brought me to a stream, vibrant color removed by winter and only colors of browns waiting springs wildflowers.  Ah...in the stream was watercress and a wonderful fresh green color.

This challenge is off to a wonderful start.

dochtersions posted Wed, 02 March 2011 at 3:05 PM

What a wonderful introduction, plus description of this beautiful picture of the watercress.

Oh yes, a very delicious thing for the salad called Brøndkarse in Denmark :) What a lovely place to pick brøndkarse. I am sure it taste extra good, when picked such a place.

Here's my first spot of color, taken just this afternoon!  I realize it's all color, but I thought the complimentary color scheme made the logo really pop.

The color is subtle in this one...my wife wants stone to put under the raised frong porch.  Since all I am doing is trying to find a job...well, off to get the stone.   One rather smallish truck, a much smaller shovel..but is there enough stone?

The rock is in a pile near her work place. Recent work left this pile and they were told get all you want...I hope the old truck will survive yet another full load!

TomDart posted Sat, 12 March 2011 at 7:16 PM

Clive, the hand and brush are a nice effect.

This rock with the reddish color spots is one of the various rocks lining our small driveway.  From best I have been told, the red is realgar and I believe the yellowish stuff is orpiment.  These minerals are like good friends and found together.  Don't eat this rock!  The stuff is a source of arsenic.    Ancient folks used it for pigment, medicine, etc.   This one was about 4 times longer but  I accidentally drive over the edge and  broke it.

I shot this photo yesterday morning during a walk near my house. I don't know the name of this plant... it was a flowering bush and it was on a fence of a uncultivated land!

I have little time to comment on every single image... but I can say that I admire  all... they are really very beautiful!
Congratulations to you all! :-)

An amazing shot, dear Maria C.

Its a kind of wild clover, I guess.
We have it in our garden, but not in bloom yet.

You've captured it so well!!!

Thers's some really great work here.  Pity we only get three goes, I keep seeing things as "spots of colour".  I always wonder, do photographers see thing differently to other folk?

Can't wait for next Challenge.

Quote - I always wonder, do photographers see thing differently to other folk?

They say that.

Just like painters, who also look 'different'. :D

I guess there is some creativity in all of us - cameras are our brushes!

LoneyBones posted Tue, 22 March 2011 at 6:30 PM

I still use brushes, :-)  and clay. I'm, hopefully, doing a raku firing* soon, never done that before. Very experimental. I love experimenting. See, that's why I can't wait for next month's Challenge, another opportunity to experiment.  :-)

*look it up on google if you don't know about raku.  ;-)

Third and last picture of this month. This afternoon I went to find my friend and  I photographed this flower in her garden. She told me his name, but I forgot it... I'm sorry!
I hope, however, that it's to your liking! :-)
