I used to think that Poser was the dogs...but now I'm not so sure & would be interested in your view on this as I've not my Poser 8 for a while, but looking to get back into it and maybe upgrade to Poserpro2010 - although I have to admit I am likeing the simple layout of Daz and have seen so great results - it also looks easier to work with than poser.
Looking to use Vue 9 and maybe zbrush

If you'll do a quick search you may find that there are a plethora of threads in this forum with this very title.
Add one more.

sorry to bother you!

Its largely a matter of which interface you like , and what features you MUST have.
I do a lot of things with the poser cloth room , which DAZ studio does not have. I would have to do them in my modelling program if I didnt have poser, and it would be a bit harder.
For just Posing and assembling a scene there is not that much difference between the two of them.
I dont use any of the fancy lighting features in Poser, so I cant comment on the differences there.
There are discussions of Poser vs Daz studio and between different versions of Poser if you have a look back a few weeks (search Daz studio)
I would not upgrade if you have Poser 8. It will take a while to learn it and get great results. Try Daz studio to compare. Studio 4 beta is now out (I think) so have a look at that too.

It's not a bother, Bushy... it's just the question has been asked about 50 billion times, and a ton of opinions and discussions and yadayadayada has ensued to clog cyberspace, all of them sounding alarmingly similar. So, have a look at "search", then feel free to ask a more specific question, such as:
"I already have Poser 8 and am not totally impressed... I also have Daz Studio - the free one - but it's sort of not quite what I had in mind. I really wish I had a modeller, superior renderer and material management of some of the big programmes out there. Any suggestions?"
Then, I'd have one word for you: Blender.

I am using Poser since version 2 and use now Poser pro 2011
I also use Daz studio 3 advanced (64 bits)
I must admit that Daz studio with Reality plugin offer a nice rendering system. But i never like its content browser and its dynamic clothing only works in 32 bits and had many bugs on my system (Windows 7 64 bits)
So i still prefer Poser and mainly use it
If you want to use the poser pro 2011 64 bits version, i recommand to use it with Xl extended library ( from Dimension 3d) ,a much better one than the original coming with Poser

C'est PoserPro 2010, pas Poser Pro 2011. Enfin, je ne crois pas que 2011 soit sorti.

Thanks all,
I will search questions in future to see if they have been asked before.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
