I know the Plant editor is of variation, and I can create new species by adjust&change those default plants.well obviosly it's limited by the reference plants. But can I create some new species from a totally blank one?(Or from the beginning)any totarials or introductions there?

Oh,what a pity...Obviosly I can't afford any more software.I just wonder how those plants around the web(like asile FX,cornucopia's shop or so) were created?I'm pretty sure that some of those plants are quite different from those default plants, and were not created by changing those default plants there.

you can make their texture transparent! but i dont think so in the end, it is relatively basic from memory.

Cornucopia is basically e-on so they have access to the SDK to make solidgrowth plants, I assume that aisle fx has some sort of agreement with them.

but most of the stuff on c3d are created by users..If it's really what you said, then ............what a pity.........

All non E-On/Cornucopia Solid Growth plants are variations on other SG-plants (either bought or distributed with Vue). Nobody outside E-On has access to the tools to create from scratch SG-Plants. Nobody has also the exact recipy of Coke ()

Non SG-plants are done usually with XFrogs; plant packs for XFrogs costs usually so much that if you need more than a handful of them you are better off buying XFrogs. As free alternatives you might check Arbaro and ngPlant whch are nearly all that it is available (plant generation is a field in which there is even less competition than terrain generation).

GIMP 2.7.4, Inkscape 0.48, Genetica 3.6 Basic, FilterForge 3 Professional, Blender 2.61, SketchUp 8, PoserPro 2012, Vue 10 Infinite, World Machine 2.3, GeoControl 2
