Hi
Can anyone point me to a 3D bird model that I can insert into the background of a video I'm doing?
I can be very simple just a bird with wings extended that will glide across the background behind the speaking character.
I thought I would find something easily but I haven't had any luck.
An animated one would be nice but I'll settle for one that just looks like it's in flight.

You can get the songbird at Daz
http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/songbird?item=719&_m=d
The Hummingbird at RDNA

Ken used to have some free birds at his site, not sure if they are still available:
Here is a search for "bird" at Mystic Nights 3D Directory. You might find something free there:

I can't get to it right now, but you can type in a search word at this link and find both free and commercial items:
And finally, Turbosquid has some free and commercial ones

The cardinal is free at Contentparadise and they have several other birds for very low prices.
Poser 11 Pro, Windows 10
Auxiliary Apps: Blender 2.79, Vue Complete 2016, Genetica 4 Pro, Gliftex 11 Pro, CorelDraw Suite X6, Comic Life 2, Project Dogwaffle Howler 8, Stitch Witch

I reccommend DAZ Songbird remix for the most extensive mix of bird morphs and textures for their figure.

Hi everyone.
I downloaded the Cardinal from ContentParadise and it seems to be just what I need.
I made it black to pass for a crow, but I'm having a problem.
It's one of those things that always drives me crazy with Poser.
When I have the bird fly behind my character the bird always appears to fly through her head.
I don't mean an illusion that it passes through her head, you can see the bird enter her head half was back, if the wing is up it moves through her forehead like a shark fin through the ocean.
Yet when I rotate the camera around to the side you can see that the bird is clearly a long way behind her.
I've tried over and over to get the bird to appear to fly behind here but it just won't work. I really don't understand what's happening.
Anyone have any idea.
The bird isn't really crucial to this, but it would be a nice atmospheric touch.

Raise it up high enough that it passed over instead of through?
MikeMoss posted Sat, 26 March 2011 at 3:40 PM
The problem is that by the time the bird appears, it is a full face view of the character without enough space for the bird to fly overhead.

maybe adjust the z or x axis (depending on which direction your character's facing) of the bird as it goes by? Make sure it's 'path' doesn't have the same values as the main character (offset by +/- 2.x or so?)

Hi
I'll check it out again.
But the thing that I don't understand is that if I look at the scene from the side view camera, you can see that the bird is some distance behind the character, but when I switch back to the main carera the bird appears to be in the same location as the characters head.
Why doesn't the bird appear the same from all views?
If I switch to the overhead camers the bird doesn't show at all!
I don't know what's happening.
Next time I look at it I'll try slowly rotating the main carera around and see what happens, I didn't do this because I didn't want to change the real camera position but I guess it doesn't matter if I don't save it.
I'll let you know what happens.
