Subject: Quantity Vs Quality, I am Disappointed.

I have been a customer here at Rendo for many years and I have noticed changes that I will speak about.  When I go to a restaurant for the first time, I always like to speak with the owners or managers to let them know how I felt about my experience there.  I see it as a way of helping out, just like answering a survey.

I have spent a lot of money on wonderful content here but I am noticing a decline in quality for products sold here.  I see a lot of very new vendors and the more experienced ones leaving.  Why?  I find many products released back to back by the same vendors.  How is it that they can create so fast and have so many products in their store in such a short period of time.  In my opinion it takes many months to produce a character of great quality.  The attention to every little detail is key.  There are only a few vendors here that I love that do that.  I won't list them, you all know who you are!!!!  I am becoming more and more unsatisfied with what is being sold here.  The quality of the products seemed to have declined and many of the promos for the produtcs are down right horrible.  I mean no offense to the new vendors, hey, you need to start somewhere, but I believe there needs to be a bit more control over the quality of the products sold.  I looked at Renderosity as The Place to buy great quality content!  This was the very first place I would turn to as soon as the computer booted up and I opened my web browser.  I was always content to find something I liked everyday!!!   Now I come here and hope there is something I would like!   I used to buy so many products per month that I always recieved Render Rewards.  This has not been the case anymore.  I am a customer here and I firmly believe you should know how I feel.  I feel that the vendors that take their time to produce high quality items need to compete with these mass produced items and in my eyes that is just not right.

If there are others out there that feel the same way as I do please contribute to this thread.  I love Renderosity, I want to see it grow and get better!

Sadly I must agree with the original post. I have noticed the same myself. I used to check Rendo several times a week for content. There were months where I would purchase twelve or more items. All very high quality. However, there are very few good quality items to be found except from the veteran content developers who have been here for at least a few years. I also agree that new vendors need an outlet. At the risk of offending anyone I must say that a few items for sale here would qualify as 'freebies' at best. A subjective opinion but one that I feel is valid. I hope things will change for the better soon.

same feeling and thoughts here too. ReRo is seductive, coming back daily but then I am disappointed to see some new Stuff looks like in the beginning of 3D content... Sometimes thank god there are new items I say Yes - I love it... but mostly since month there is stuff that shocks me... but its good for my wallet or budget ;-)))

But I see this case in all the big shops, ReRo isn´t alone with that... I know there are beginner vendors and the expierience comes with ech new product. We all start as Beginner and learn all over the years... But I am often frustrated, if they are new stuff which is not so tingling. New Vendors, Modellers, Texurers must have a chance to sell... But they should be more serious about their product...

Even as a new vendor, I feel the same way as you do about this. I can't count how many times I've seen something for sale and thought to myself, "I woulda made THAT a freebie!."

That said, I am still new, have only been modeling 10 months and selling maybe 8 or so, but I only have 5 products in my store now. I won't add anything to my store until everything is how I want it, no cutting corners.

As for promos, well, mine aren't all glitz and glamour, but hey, I try lol

jules, neiman, and patty, I  am sitemailing you guys with a download link to my newest product, at the attached link.

I hope that you find that even though I am new to the scene, that it's still a quality product.

Please don't lose hope, just voicing your opinion and vendors will be forced to take their time and make higher quality items once they see sales drop.

Take care,

Jeff

Hello Jeff :)

I am not any teacher or guru, but I can tell you that are not you or people like you whose motivated the above posts.

The objects can be simple (actually, I like simplicity), but believe me, they look GOOD, the same as your promos.

Maybe they can be more this or that... maybe... or not, because they are showing the elements in a good way, IMO.

I am pretty sure that what some people is seeing is not pointed to the new or not new vendors that make good stuff, even if they show it in a moderated way.

But this is just my oppinion... I mean: YOU are safe :)

Dear Jeff

I must agree with Fabiana ( which is a great vendor and createure of Items ). Yours is fine too. For a new Vendor and Modeller Your stuff is unique and perfect! It has Quality and the details are stunning. The Promos are unique too. This is what we as costumers wish for. Me I just do texturing modells and love ist. But I have no time to sell, maybe I should put them to the freebies zone...

I want to thank You for the Bike I must say I love it... it reminds me of old times I got this kind of Bike formyself as a kid... it was a true bike.... Your Details and textures are well done... It is awesome! Keep up doing the good work, hope see much more of it... Then my eyes will be pleased and my hope for good products will be satisfied...

Thanks you two, hearing that I'm not included in that group is encouraging to say the least.

My advise to wannabe vendors is:

Make freebies first, make a mountain of them, show you passion, your love to create and ask for feedback!  (that's quite a mountain you got there in your freestuf Bionic;)

It gains experience and your products will improve in time and when you arrive at the moment you be proud of a product and would buy it yourself then you can start thinking about asking money for it....just my 2 cents.
