I got my nephew the free copy of bryce to play with, he was working on something, clicked on a mat and rendered it. The object was just glowing white. Now everything in his presets are messed up, anything he clicks on (mats), come up as something totally different. He's been using it for a month or so, and this just happened today. He is using an e-machine, win 7, 2 gig harddrive, 2 gigs of ram. we uninstalled it 3 times re-installed twice. Any ideas out there, Or is Bryce to cool for an e-machine?

Bryce will mess up the presets catalogues if you load too many items into them. Best to keep them as small as possible.
Reinstall and only add what you need.

I got this too on the purchase of Bryce 7 Pro. No idea how to fix this - the obj will just be white when I try and put a texture on it.

We tried all kind of things. We finally took his comp. back to an earlier time, He also had a very persistant adware on it, couldn't remove it manually, you might check for that. It seemed to mess with several systems.

The adaware thing would not surprise me - but never had the trouble on Bryce 6 (???). Only other thing I can think of doing is rendering in Bryce 6 and making a obp file to go into Bryce 7 - but shouldn't have to grrrrrr++++!

seems to be, never had trouble with the textures on that one - but let me check on that to make sure, could be the graphics card playing up or may need updating. Just give me a day or so. (puts Bryce hat on)

The hat looks good, by the way.

LOL!
Hey sorry it took me a while to reply - unfortunately I couldn't replicate the problem, seems like it fixed itself...so far.

Good, I hope your creating keeps going.
Now if we can just get our cars to heal them selves, that would be awsome.

One thing you can do if you want the presents to behave is this
make different parts of the piece of work you are doing in different documents then import them into the presents then use it for your main document then delete the old version and re import it back as a presents. It does depend on the size of the file though (I always save mine in User mode) that way you shouldn't lose all your work and other presents you have made.
Hope This helps you I had the same problem with my last computer the file was so big it completely refused to work (I tried reinstalling and it failed to give back the presents)
