Quote - Try reducing the distance between the figure and the backdrop object to about 2 feet.

... AND ...

If the infinite (or point) light is too bright, it will "wash out" the shadow from the spotlight.

Try turning the infinite light off and render it to see what effect you get.

????????????????????????

馃槃 I rest my case ... it was getting pretty tired anyway.

Problem solved?

Geep - I was assuming he paid attention to the earlier points, and reported AFTER paying attention to all those factors that there was still no shadow.

Writing "still no shadow" after your other posts, I took it to mean, "still no shadow after paying attention to all you've told me so far".

I get a little confused with statements like that.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I also parented the spotlight to the camera (or is that the camera to the spotlight - wherever the camera went, the spotlight went along for the ride).

I then posed the figure ... et voila.

Not exactly portrait of the year, but hey its a huge improvement :)
