That's without a doubt a bug. It's nearly impossible to click a small thumbnail!
JenX posted Wed, 11 May 2011 at 1:21 PM
Guys, just in case it is a bug, and there's supposed to be another feature (I do not know this for sure, but just in case), can you post your OS and browser (with version number) for the programmers? Thanks :)

Yes, on my IE/Vista the stupid pop up covers almost the whole thumbnail. Just a little bit of a PITA. lol q-:

Windows 7, IE9, like CarolSassy said, a huge pop-up.
The way it was before was okay, why the change?
StaceyG posted Wed, 11 May 2011 at 1:37 PM
I've reported this to the techs.
Thank you
nruddock posted Wed, 11 May 2011 at 1:54 PM
For those having trouble right clicking, it seems that once the balloon appears, there is just room above and left to right click for the context menu, though I'd suggest that using middle click is an easier way to open a new tab (assuming browser and settings allow).
Finally, for God's sake put a delay on them popping up like you have for them disappearing (while your at it do this for the main menu bar as it's annoying to have the submenus drop down when moving the mouse around).
StaceyG posted Wed, 11 May 2011 at 2:11 PM
The programmers are working on all this now:)

I wouldn't call it a feature, just an annoyance. It's a completely unneeded distraction which obscures the thumbnail we are trying to see and makes middle-clicking on it to open the image in a new tab a real pain.
Either (prefereably) remove this 'feature', give a long delay before it appears, or allow it to be clicked-through so the middle-click still works without having to maneuver onto the very edge of the thumbnail.

It wasn't so bad before when you had to hold the cursor on the thumbnail a few seconds before it appeared, and it wasn't so big.

I see they've changed the pop-up back to just a square with text (instead of the comic-balloon-like pop-up), but it's still blocking the thumbnail immediately as I go over it. The ones with a lying (going on panoramic) lay-out cannot be looked at.

OH MY GOD what a mess! What happened here? I can't even click on any of the image links as they are immediately obscured by popups! It worked fine years ago.

mountmous posted Thu, 12 May 2011 at 10:08 AM
Better, yes, but there are still images I can't reach. Like I said: the "panoramic" images are completely blocked.
Richardphotos posted Thu, 12 May 2011 at 10:26 AM
seems to depend if a full size thumb is used or not.I am still having problems with small thumbs

Vista & IE9
Yeah It's still happening today, I think this instant pop-up in the gallery is really annoying and it's going to be a problem for anybody that post a pano and lets the system generate the thumb-nail. It covers it up and makes it really hard to click on the thumb to goto the picture.
Whats up with this? Put the delay back. ;)
nruddock posted Thu, 12 May 2011 at 12:16 PM
They've gone altogether for me, so either they turned them off, or they broke badly (I suspect the former as I'm not seeing the tooltip data in the page source anymore).

auntietk posted Thu, 12 May 2011 at 12:44 PM
Looking forward to having the pop-ups disappear after a few seconds again, like it was up until a couple days ago. :)

If you go into your MY GALLERY OPTIONS page you can turn on or off the pop up image detail tool tip.
They are working for me just fine now in both IE and Chrome. The only thing I see is the ones that are long due to the keywords and I'll be checking on that.

I just tried to look at an image, I can't click the thumb because of the overlay from the pop up, it wasn't like this a few days ago..

Can you screenshot what you are seeing? You can post it here or email me (stacey@renderosity.com)
thefixer posted Thu, 12 May 2011 at 4:49 PM
Float my cursor over a thumb, the popup comes up and totally obscures the thumb making it impossible to click on the thumb to see the image. This of course depends on the thumb size, most are bigger than the popup so it's not an issue except for those thumbs that are smaller.

...words that I've often lived by as a professional computer guy!
The pop-up is now popping up to the right of the thumbnail, blocking the one next to it and preventing that one being clicked on without deliberately moving the cursor off first.
It's still instant, and still very annoying.
XP SP3, Firefox (latest update) if it really matters... :sigh:

Hi,
seems better now, not hiding thumbs any longer.
I really do appreciate those image pop-ups and would suggest to consider:

Forgot to mention earlier: Win7 with IE8
Much better now that the pop-up is alongside the image you want to see.
