Hi :o)

The first question I have is regarding the choice of with AO/ with out AO...

what is AO?

I have been chooseing with, and damn; I am haveing problems with my renders :o(

I thought I had the rendering thing down, but; these elite figures have proven to be difficult.  I learn to use less lights, pull back on the green and push red lights, but geez...

I did check out the DAZ site and can find nothing about it.

So thanks for any info, and I will post if I find anything.

AO = ambient occlusion, adjusting the lightness of the surface according to how well it is hidden from the light sources.

Thanks RH :o)

It sounds like a good thing to have :o)

It can add a degree of realism , but does change slightly how a figure gets lit. If its loading with the figure it must have AO set in the materials. You can also load materials without ao , and set one (or more) lights to AO which will affect all materials in the scene.

If you are using IDL in P8 or PP2010 you don't want AO on in your shader...

You'll find that a lot of shaders with in-built kludges (okay, features) are going to render like butt in PP2010's IDL/GC. You might want to do a search on what do do about fixing that... Bagginsbill posts hold most of the answers on that score, you you might do a search on his name.

For example, that hair... Kozaburo? What do you have the transparency map Image gamma set to (click on the image_source name to see)... should be set to Custom Gamma value of 1.

Hi Robyns Veil

You are so helpful :o)

The hair is Super bob.  It useually turns out well.  It looks crappy here because of the adjustments I had made to get a good render on the figure. I have got some good renders with  these elite, but;then this will happen and does not seem to go away regardless of what I do with the settings.

I will of course take your advice.

I will also try these with- out the AO get comfortable with it, and then apply the Baggins fix :o)

(I worked quite sometime on this morph and the poor thing looks like she's been beaten) :o(

THANK YOU :o)

Actually, BagginsBill has a brilliant skin shader specifically designed for those PP2010 users who wish to use GC and IDL. Look for any post by him and you'll find links in his signature.
