Subject: Change BVH animation from 'moving' to 'in place'?

I have applied a BVH walk animation to V4. I'd like it to walk 'in place' instead of 'moving' over the work space. Is there a simple way of doing this?

Hi, go into the Graph editor and Shift select ALL  Z-translation Frames for the Hip and Delete them.

Hi,

The thing is the graph palette is completely empty no matter what I choose in the drop down menu. I have the hip selected and have tried with body with same difference.

Anything else I can try?

---- edit ----

Sorry, when the body is selected I see the red, straight line in the graph palette.

Hi I am at a Loss then.

I just Applied a BVH to this poser female and this is her hip translation keyframes in the GE,
Are you sure you have the figures hip selected and not her clothings hip?.. Can you post a screen shot of your GE with the hip selected ??

Hmmm Quite Puzzling!!!!![](art/emoticons/crying.gif) I see somehow you have  over 500 Frames but No KF appearing in the GE

My only Guess is that there is something Odd about that BVH motion File
But I dont have Poser Pro  or your BVH so I can Only Speculate.

I tried DAZ V4 in Poser 6 and Got the same Result as I did before.

Try a Different BVH file Perhaps??.

Will do and I'll test it with Poser 8 too.

The BVH files are the free ones at this place. Great animations.

From your screen grab I think it may be that you need to drag the right edge of the scroll bar beneath the graph and expand the range. In P8 my graph sometimes opens showing a single frame across the whole screen

hip xtrans, hip ztrans, body xtrans, body ztrans et al.

it's likely one of those. a diagonal-ish line across the graph.  every frame is keyframed.

Thanks everybody.

I loaded the BVH file in Poser 8 and it showed up properly.

I only need about 30 frames of walk animation but the walk designer gives ugly results so will have to pick out frames from these BVH files me thinks.
