Hello everyone!

To start I'll introduce you to how I came upon Poser. I recently purchased it because I was feeling creative and had some extra money and my friend recommended it. My friend is a long time user of Poser and has a lot of DAZ content, which he passed along to me because he's stopping. Therein lies my issue.

After installing all of the content he gave me, I have V4 running fine, but all of the clothing is just textures, no actual props. I tried applying these textures to the base props from the tutorials but they look awful and don't fit worth a damn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! The clothing I have is the Domino clothing for V4 as well as a lot of base clothing. All of which are textures! The only props I have are earrings, and I know some people are into it, but I don't want purely nude models(earrings don't count =p) -_-

Actually, thats not entirely true. The Domino clothing is the only one (and the only one I don't actually have use for) that is working, but they are as figures, not props.

Thanks!

It might be because clothing are generally not props, but conformers and therefore figures. They are found in the figures folder and then need to be conformed to the figure after loading. Perhaps your friend can help you at least with the basics?

Is there a "Z" in your friend's name?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Since you are new here, Linda aka Acadia will definitely give you all the goodie sites where you can get plenty of FREE dynamic and conforming clothing. In the mean time, explore the freebie section narrowing it down to V3 dynamic clothing.  I know that you said V4, but the V3 dynamic clothing will fit V4 too with some adjustments.  As for conforming clothing, yeah you pretty much need V4 stuff.  Jan

Well right off the bat, your friend had no right to "Give" you his DAZ content! It's a breach of the contract he agreed to when he purchased it and he has just made you into a pirate.

Steve is correct in that the DAZ content cannot be transferred to you.  Legally, you will have to delete the files and start your collection on your own.  It's part of the EULA he agreed to when installing the files himself.

As for the rest, there is a wealth of great freestuff here, at RuntimeDNA.com, DAZ3D.com, Sharecg.com, and quite a few other places where people will point out to you. The Freestuff forum also has links to some great freestuff in the posts there :)

Good luck!
