Is there a toon shader available to use on m4,v4 or the freak.
I would also like to be able to toon the ice pack, or clothing is this possible ?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Here's a thread where bill shares a shader.

use the edge-blend node to get the falloff shader for the lines. the poser toon lines are lousy IMVHO.

salmon, first you delete the .txt from the name of the file. .mtl is a material file. You'll want to put it in your runtime under materials. So poser - runtime - library - materials.
Then in the material room you can double click on the file to load it.
Now if you want to keep a preexisting texture file, you might want to use it with VSS instead. Do a search on VSS for discussion on how to use it.

BTW, in Poser 7, there are toon shaders included: in Materials -> Cp Partners -> Sixus1 -> Toon

Hi winterclaw so i have renamed the file to .mtl.
Can i copy it and paste it into the folder poser runtime - library - materials ?
Thanks also 3dvice i have poser 8 so i found the sixus1 >toon as well.
I also did a seach within renderosity toon free stuff I should have done this like ages ago, theres so much stuff.
I watched the quick tutorial on how to apply toon render: select body hold shift apply toon render i also did this to hair and clothing, it will be intresting to see if there is a improvement by using a toon shader.
Winterclaw posted Fri, 27 May 2011 at 2:26 PM
Yes copy and paste it there because it needs to be in the materials folder to select it in poser.

I find the easiest way is to use olivier's toon shaders at runtimedna with the new shaderworks thing that semidieu has put out - a couple of clicks and instant tooning.Lots of choices for whatever look you want with the semidieu option. It's just so cool to use. I love it. I asked poser makers to make a nonphotorealistic renderer but now I don't need them to do it (they were never going to anyway I don't think)

I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

You can address multiple materials in one go with a material collection (files with .mc6 or mz6 extension). You can create these on your own by clicking + "Add to Library", then choose "Material Collection" and "ok" to save or "Select Materials" first to specify which materials you want to save and the "ok" to save.

oh they just had a sale on that recently. maybe the toon shaders will go on sale again. It is by far the easiest way, unless you are just making one of toon pics. for me I'm trying to do 1000s of panels.
