Where is this so popular Poser Vicki Figure that I keep reading about on this site? Also, is there any other figures OTHER than Andy in Poser 8 to start off with? Thanks again all -- great community here with lots of info.

Vicki, Victoria , V4 are all names of one of the Daz3d female figure. The Base V4 is free but you eventually need the morphs pack. I dont think V3 is free at Daz anymore but its in a bundle at download.com, search for Daz.
Poser 8 should have the content from P5 and up so you should have at least 4 male and 4 female figures to choose from.
The V4.2 bundle is on sale and may be good value to get started.

Thanks Mark -- I do have the other Poser Content in Poser 8 to choose, but the Dropdown Menu on the Figure only shows Andy's name.
Is there any links for the Vicki items to get to? It tried searching for her earlier today and there's soooo much stuff here offered you get easily swamped, :). Like a big kid in a toy store...

If you mean the drop down list in the preview window , thats only showing figures in the current scene. I dont have Poser 8 but the other figures should be in your library.
Heres the bundle http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/victoria-4-2?item=4781&_m=d
if you look in the whats included section you will find links to the individual products in the bundle.
There is also a pro bundle but thats $100

I usually wait for stuff to go on sale. Theres a lot of freestuff for V4 because its been out for a few years now.

Thanks man....the version of Victoria on the first link is only 24.95. Might have to grab her at that price. Will be worth the investment for it. That's good to know about the free stuff too -- nice to have variety.
Using these figures as passengers in aircraft for Flight Sim X and drivers for my automobiles when they're released, so it's good to spice things up a bit with different items.
Appreciate the info --

It would appear that all the Vicky versions are available for free, as well as Aiko, She Freak, and the Girl. Link Below:

But, as Markschum mentioned, Generation 3 & 4 will require morph packs to change their overall appearences which are not free.
Every week, DAZ does release free content, only available for 1 week before a price tag is assigned to it. Well worth taking advantage of those opportunities.

Adding to what HBore stated, I would download the base figures first and get them up and running first (read the installation instructions carefully and don't skip any steps, let the .exe file install it where it suggests. After you are familiar with DAZ's unique installations, then you can begin purchasing stuff.
Now back you your first question. Poser 8 has eight new figures, four for the Alyson series and four for the Ryan series. Additionally, it has the Poser 2 thru Poser 5 figures, the Poser 6 Jessie, Ben, Kate, and James, Poser 7's Ben, Kate, Simon, and Sydney. Plus conforming and dynamic clothing for all.
Getting rid of Andy, you can work it so that your render area is blank.
Do you have the library activated, it should appear on the right side of your screen if it is? Jan

Daz figures that work without extra purchased morph packs are the reduced resolution versions for Michael 3 and Victoria 3, and also the earlier versions. Victoria 3 Reduced Resolution was still free at Daz the last time I looked. Very useful figure, especially if you are going to have several figures in a scene.
Nice free clothes and skins are available if you look around at the different content sites in the free sections, and don't forget ShareCG.

Thank you everyone for the input, always good to see the helpful community here. :) I will have another question non related to this thread in my next -- trying not to get things confusing here...:)
I have been searching as well like you say Nanette, and did find some interesting sites. It's good to see there are free things too.
