Hello to everybody,

I need to change the objects coordinate system.

E.g. I have a hand and it seems it's origin of the coordinate system is located at the base of the hand (i.e the carpus). So if I rotate the hand it rotates around it's carpus.

But what if I want the hand to rotate around the thumb e.g???

Can I change the origins of the object's coordinate system??

Hope my question is clear enough.

Best,

Paul

The Joint Editor, Found on the "Windows" dropdown tab will solve your problem. Simply move the gree + sign to where you want the center of rotation to be.

The body part pivot point is the end of the previous bone. If you move it you are going to get strange results.  If its just a hand on its own then basicwiz is correct.

Great, that's what I was looking for. I just have a have a hand and I need to render it from various viewpoints.

I will keep the camera (top camera perhaps) still and I will rotate the hand.

I guess the next milestone to automate the procedure and generate many images with python.

Any good manuals or tutorials for pyhton and poser8?

Thanks again for your help!!!

best,

Paul
