I just had an injection of funds in my paypal account for some cover work, I want ideas on what to spend it on with something to complement Vue in mind.
I use 9 Infinite and I have $240 to spend.
All ideas welcomed, I really don't want to waste it this time on more dresses for V4....

Have you got Filter Forge? It's usually on sale most of the time but I think the last one ended a couple of days ago. Won't be long till it's 50% off again though

I like Quadspinner's Vue materials and training vids.

Yes, I've had it for a few years and just gone with the lifetime licence. It's a texture generator of sorts but not just textures. Node based lab. Other (very clever) users upload their filter creations and anyone can download them to use as is or change them. There are currently 8105 filters for download. A few are somewhat crappy but there's some really cool stuff in there - take a look at a category you[d probably be interested inGill

CrazyBump is another good tool to use with Vue.

Hi, thanks for the thanks but it wasn't neccesary, but I am grateful for the thanks from you, I get two or three of these payments a year varying in size..
Anyway, what about utilities for Vue, geocontrol, City engine, stuff like that, would they be of any use??

Geocontrol 2 is very good. I assumed you already had it because it is the number one terrain tool for Vue.
thefixer posted Thu, 02 June 2011 at 1:57 PM
No don't have it...

I as well 2nd GeoControl...useful in many other terrain/landscape programs...gives flow maps and a variety of other ones that are useful for masking object placement/textures etc. in a realistic manner...very useful indeed and I only had the demo...still use the output I generated in that short period of time.. ...

I would like to check out Quad's MDK 1.0 kit but can't find any link to see the price of the whole thing. So, since I'm considering it, I'd obviously recommend it for a look.
As to other items, I played with the City Builder thing and was impressed yet dismayed to see a lot of stupid layout errors...roads and center lines in the parking lot areas and buildings sometimes cut in half. It has potential but I wouldn't recommend it ATM.
And, I suppose you already have SkinVue...
Congrats on the paid work !

Oh, BTW (having read your page), I'm half Welsh. My father immigrated to the US from Wales. His name was (LOL) probably common in those parts--Charles Brian Evans. I'm named after him.
When I toured some of England twice (all along the southern coast), I never alloted time for other parts of the UK.
(sorry for the OT post)

How about 3DCoat if you're into modeling or texturing...
