Attached Link: Sculptris
Pixologic has just released Sculptris updated version Alpha 6. This program is still an Alpha version but fairly well stable one. I am soooo excited. I LUV this program.Sculptris is an awesome FREE modeller that anyone can use and the closest thing to playing with clay without getting your hands wet.
It's beautiful uncluttered interface and simple tools are very inviting and easy to use. With so few tools you may be fooled to think it is limited but truely the only limitation is your imagination.
The update now includes support for Mac OSX. I'm use the PC version on my laptop with Windows XP so I can't tell you anything about the Mac version.
They have good introduction videos and a friendly Scuptris forum full of enthusiastic hobbyist and pros. I've been hanging out there for a year now getting good tips on using this little program.
Did I say little? Well it's only 20MB file but WOW what it can do. It is fun and never severly punishes you for experimenting. So now you can include your own created unique "Objet d'art" into your render scenes.
Sorry if this sounds like a sales pitch but I am really excited on this. Anyhoot enjoy.

Rendered in Sculptris with DOF (& imaged downsized in another program). Funtastic.

Sculptris has my vote. I have only admiration for people, as indviduals or corporations who distribute thier work freely eg, sun (Open office), sculptris or myself (hehe). As for sculptris I shall go now - this very moment - and Google it for Alpha 6. Ty for this post

Can it be used to make Morph Targets for Poser?

Yes I think it has been, but you have to make sure that it's set not to subdivide/ add more geometry.
Daz Studio 4.8 and 4.9beta, Blender 2.78, Sketchup, Poser Pro 2014 Game Dev SR5 on Windows 8 Pro x64. Poser Display Units are inches

What's really fascinating and amazing is how quickly Tomas Petterson (aka DrPetter) developed this app into a beta that was addictively easy and usable. I recall, before he was hired by Pixologic, in February or so, it had been barely 3-4 months since he had started developing Sculptris. and bang! there it was, just beautiful. He had done some other great code dev before, such as music and synth stuff for audio in games. I kept a short collection as a reference on my site, because even though we like to promote Curvy 3D, this one has us doing the "Hats off to you, brother!". I'm just saying kudos to him for keeping it free. They must have really been scared when they saw his stuff. When I saw it in February I thought, uh oh, there goes zbrush... either they'll hire him or someone else will, they'd better hurry, ... kudos also as they allow him to keep it free, for now anyway. Wowser and thanks DrPetter!
