I'm working on a project that features V4 and M4 in the same shot. Before loading M4, I applied the VSS to V4 because I only wanted it on her. The project is nearly finished, but I've decided to experiment with another character set I just bought for her.
How do I apply the VSS to V4's new character shaders without it effecting M4?

You could load the a V4 in a new scene apply the skin and shaders there then save the skin plus the vss shaders as a mtl file and apply it in your saved scene.

Select the control prop.
Open material room.
Select material called "Apply Rules". This is how VSS knows which figures and props this object applies to.
There is a rule that matches any figure, stored as a node, called
Go to VSS Designer buttons.
Press Add a Rule button.
Make a rule with the name of the figure you want to apply.
Now this prop will only apply to that figure.
Case does not matter - VICKY = vicky = Vicky.
A rule vic* would match Vicky or Victoria or Victor or Vic.
You can have more than one rule in the apply rules. The prop would apply to any that match.
You can have more than one control prop, with different apply rules in them. Thus you can have different template shaders for any subset of props or figures you like.
