Am I alone in hating the intrusive nature of the bright blue?
It does nothing for the work, and in fact in some cases really detracts from it. We are taught that the correct choice of mount is nearly as important as the work, but now we have it chosen for us.
I could actually be tempted to stop posting/browsing as I find it so annoying.
I should love to have other peoples opinions.
I posted this in the wrong place and got told there is already a thread about it somewhere, but i can't find it!

Must say the old color is better for me. The blue can be hard on the eyes. A can also not see the full picture of everyones upload.

The whole thing looks to me as if there is a bug in the Javascript; nothing seems to fit correctly, and it just looks amateurish. A black background would be so much better!

It seems that there has been quite a lot of 'fiddling' over the last couple of weeks and not all for the better. I have the adverts, which normally come down the right hand side, now coming down through the uploaded pictures and through the script which is very annoying and which, it seems, no one can in RR can help me with.
I am with Andrea, please can the steps be retraced!!!

Thank you i posted my comment at the link that you shared.

What I find very annoying is that whenever I go on Renderosity now it hijacks my control by deleting any back links to pages I viewed before RR, so I cannot go back further than RR. That practice has been universally condemned throughout the internet.
whaleman posted Thu, 07 July 2011 at 1:52 PM
Now I see what you are talking about, the new page layout. I am totally unimpressed. It's almost like trying to find everything on a new site, so maybe that's what I shoud do. After all, there are many others out there. It's another example of change for the sake of change and for the life of me I cannot see any improvement. Ergo, BAD IDEA!
Now, to illustrate my previous comment, I tried to go back to my hotmail after seeing the new page, but I couldn't because of the hijacking. And also, I couldn't find Andrea's thread in the forums, so I had to quit Internet Explorer and restart it to get back to her thread notice. I don't know if any admins are listening out there but IF THIS HIJACKING CONTINUES I MAY FIND ANOTHER PLAYGROUND, AND I MIGHT BE ABLE TO TAKE MY FRIENDS THERE AS WELL!!!!!

I must say, that the background color is way to screeming to the eyes and spoils totally all the images. I except atleast the inner backgound to be changed too, as it goes absolutely not together with the outer background. And then again.... what color would do that at all?
blinkings posted Thu, 07 July 2011 at 9:34 PM
Just for me, I would much prefer black. I find the blue competes with our photos.

I am not much active, but when I open RR yesterday it really hurted my eyes to be honest. I prefer black as background

Hi there. The blue glows too much for me. Not my prefered colour of a graphic/photo-site.
I would prefer someting like #2f2f2f in HTML-Colors as background and the font maybe #a9a9a9 or so.
I change my website (use the link in the post) into that and the images look more brighter than ever I think. Just take a look if you like and tell me if you like this colors.
Have a nice day...

Is everyone familiar with this link to CSS forum here? There are a couple simple scripts that can be copy/pasted to your gallery/forum options that give you some control over color schemes.I have mine set to a nuetral grey and fonts set to easy on my aging eyes.
whaleman posted Wed, 13 July 2011 at 11:28 PM
After looking at the 79 posts to this problem I think I'll decline from messing with that stuff when it seems so obvious from all the complaints that Renderosity should choose better colors themselves. The present ones are simply horrid, they do bother my eyes and therefore they irritate me!

Dont Panic...! Just klick in the box, press STRG + A on your keyboard to select all and then STRG+C to copy. Paste all the text in an empty word or notepad-document and save it. After backing the defaults copy all the text from my post (without my comments) and paste it in the MyStyle-Box...
