I don't like the bright blue background. Especially when viewing the galleries as it battles too much with the image thumbnails and is generally just too hard on the eyes.

Way too blue, for me.

Hi rosie,
I too got surprised by this color/style change... and as many other members, don´t like it at all.
The OLD coloring was imo much more convenient for my eyes, w/o such offensive blues, w/o distracting gradients, with its much better contrast for legibility esp in forums.
Thus I´d like to get an option, to either change this ugly/cheap coloring or to simply revert back to the old color scheme. Besides of that, I would like to view Gallery Images immediately at their FULL SIZE as was before! (Suggestions, which I already posted in an according thread.)

Well, it looks less old then the previous design, but it's still at least 10 years outdated... Why doesnt renderosity get some proper designers to do this stuff? i mean.. this is a graphics community.. its supposed to look at least halfway decent right?
Okay, granted, its not as terrible as the previous version.. but apart from that.. its not really very good either?

Last time there were some savy members who wrote some hacks and made them available through the community forum that gave members a choice of color combinations. I am hoping this will happen again.
The blues are okay in forum but not the greatest choice for viewing galleries. I would vote for a toned down neutral background there, not the brightest most saturated blue on the color chart for sure.
Rayraz posted Fri, 08 July 2011 at 10:47 AM
If 'Rosity would implement their CSS using SASS they could just build us a simple tool to easily set up the site's palette to our own liking...

Ok question.. why should we have to do our own copy/paste of css? And where is the editor thing they say in the CSS forum? I couldn't find it.

I use nruddock's script and tweaked it to my own color choices. The screen shot is what I liked better than his original choices. I can give you the colors I used or you can google for "css color codes" and come up with your own. I've got on small issue yet but at least I got away from blow your eyes out blue.

If you use Firefox, they have an add on called "Color this Site" that you can use to change the color. I've now got a very nice, easy on the eyes color for my background.

There's an extension called Stylish which is for both Chrome and FF.
According to the blurb it's a GreaseMonkey for CSS.

I find it strange that if you want colour options you have to play with CSS codes. A lot of web site users have no clue what that means.
Why not have an interface that you can pick up and choose colors based on a colour palette?
Its cool for the Super uses who are tech savvy enough to play with HTML code ets..But there should be an easier way for the non tech savvy.

There was something like that before the switch to PHP. Though it was simple, it was good enough, and it was easy for anybody to use.
When they introduced user stylesheets, they found that those had some unintended consequences (nothing bad just useful), so they disabled the use of certain bits of CSS.

I liked the darker colour better, but certainly not the black. To each his / her / it's own i suppose.
