I am having chronic problems with DTE crashes in 7. The latest happened when I opened the texture editor of a mat, viewed it and then hit the close mark. No changes were made to the texture; simply boom crash!

I just submitted a bug to that nature. I get the first tex loaded, and when I click the the B to load the procedural is when it crashes for me.
I tried to do it, wit the same textures, 3 times, and all crashed when I clicked the check. I hape this is something they can get worked out.
You should never doubt what no one is even sure about.

If you are using picture textures, some people experience huge problems with that. David Brinnen have reported this.

Some of these textures go back to Bryce 3 and have always been very stable. I have been brycing for over ten years and this the first time in memory that the DTE has crashed. I don't know what they did but they need to undo it.

Yeah, I started with a mono-chrome pic, and tried to add color. I gues for the moment I will need to do all my layering in corel. No offense artbymivan, but Iam glad it's not just me, maybe if enough people send in bug reports, it will get fixed, thanks dyret.

Its a known issue and is being worked on, its a fix something and something else breaks, but trust me its being resolved.
Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

seems there are a lot of things wich are a priority. lol. but DAZ's kind of priority takes a lot of time.
