Since the release of the "The Hot 20 meets The Art Charts" competition opened up a few old wounds I thought a post "post mortem" discusion maybe required to vent some frustrations (especially for those who didn't win the comp...just kidding! LOL) and hope fully come up with a creative solution.
Anyhoot this idea came to me from web sites I see that have the "Flock It" button and I thought of a two-tier approach.
The first tier is to have a fun rating system like deviantART's system of classification: Love, Joy, Wow, Mad, Sad, Fear, Neutral (however I don't understand Mad, Sad, Fear). Those that leave comments can select a rating classification. This is the feedback system for the artist.
The second tier is to have a "Flock it" button. Vistitors can just "Flock It" without leaving comments. The number of "Flock It" hits is feedback to the Rendorisity charts.
The artwork chart rating is derived from the result of total number of "Flock It" hits modified by the first tier rating system; which would require a different weighting to be attached to each of the first tier categories. I think the weighting should be kept secret, so as not to stress out the artist ;-)
