This is such a fantastic response to my weird idea, I've had an extremely hard job choosing between these submissions, I just love the way people have taken the initial brief and twisted it in so many different directions, some people took it one way and some took it another, and all are fascinating.
First I eventually managed to cut it down to 6, then after much anguished deliberation to 4 and then I seemed to be stuck there, so so very long.
But finally I think it comes out as:
mtnmen - 3 points because there's just so much in there and it's so intense.
electroglyph - 2 points ditto (in fact I would have liked to say joint first with mtnmen) both of these two really took the brief and galloped off with it. Wow!
dan whiteside - 1 point - but really this is also a first because it's so excellent, the textures and different angles of reflection - this is refining the concept down and executing it just brilliantly.
I also especially loved the Digital God, that's a fascinating idea and looks so beautiful as well.
Vangogh's entry was also very beautiful, and right on target, a lovely idea, as was adbc's entry - in a totally different way. That's what made it so hard.
I mean look at ArtByMivan's entry - fascinating stuff, I swear I can see a face in there. And the fog in frol66's entry, beautiful, with the lights carried by the monks, the texture on the bridge and stone cross - and that lovely tree, and there's so much going on in Karl Garnham's entry, cars, planes, martians. I'm astounded at the sheer diversity of the entries for this challenge - I couldn't be happier.
