Surely, Bill! Your original photo is very beautiful... and I think you can even retouch it still better than all of us! :)

Thanks Maria...here goes...a different crop and some combination of photoshop postwork designed to shift the light in the sky a little differently then already done.

Since some of you might be spending the night on the beach, I added a Cambodian or possibly Thai "Spirit House" to help you sleep better.

Beautiful additions!

Maria, I looked at your beautiful blue treatment and the Moody Blues song "Twilight Time" started going through my head: "Twilight time to dream awhile, In veils of deepening blue." I love the blue tones.

Bill, Wonderful peach and blue combination in the water and sky.  I love the water and your crop brings it more in to dominance. Lovely light.

Tom, Now that the bugs have gone, I might be tempted to spend a night on the beach.  Beautiful light and clarity.

Isn't it amazing how many variations we can come up with just by shifting light...

Maria: Your blue dream effect takes us into a mysterious nighttimme setting.

Tom: Thanks for providing a nook for us to sleep securely in...looks a wee bit tight for me:)

Mario: Your warm tones are very inviting...would you believe we saw a lady sleeping in the sun on top of one of those logs a few days ago? Didn't look very comfortable!

Hello, Bill, I am not surprised at all. Sometimes I went to the mouth of the Serchio where these logs if they are hundreds and I saw people sleeping in the most incredible ways. Rarely, people photographer, because in Italy we can not publish photos of people without a written release. When I did I changed the faces of the protagonists.

I like the original and the diti's done here. I personally allow myself only to slightly play with the image since the original is such a neat photo.

This is a mild attempt to give an old platinum print with a lens without the best edge correction.

ooooooo, I like that moody postwork, Mario. How deep it is!

Wonderful additions!

Here's my last.

Day of the Grackles!

TomDart ( ) posted Sun, 21 August 2011 at 7:39 AM

The birds are cleanly cutout...this is silly enough to be a lot of fun and smiles.

Tom, Mark and Lu,

Three more neatly postworked variations on my basic picture of Picnic Point.

The Platinum print style, the gorgeous lightning (new filter for me) and "the birds" are all winners!

Mark (dashboard_jehovah)...you have the honor of starting us off tomorrow (Aug 22nd) with a new DITI. Know you'll have fun with it.

Cheers, Bill (bmac62)
