I am having a problem with the eyes. Also I don't really understand about the morphs.Do I only use Akio 4 ++ morphs and can you also use a combination of Akio 4 ++ morphs and V4 ++ morphs.
Thanks in advance for your help
grichter posted Thu, 22 September 2011 at 7:31 PM
It uses the Aiko4 America head morph at .5 in addition to non-dial spinning (don't know what to call it other then to say the rest was created in something like Z-Brush)

at .5 in addition to non-dial spinning ? What exactlyy does this mean. I am still in the learning process and not sure about this.
Thanks for your help!

If you have a problem like eyeballs coming out of the head when certain morphs are dialed up, like 95% of the times I've heard of this it turned out to be a problem with how V4 and/or morphs were installed. Is everything in the same runtime? Did you run the "Update V4" shortcut after everything was installed?
MagnoliaMoonElf posted Thu, 22 September 2011 at 8:13 PM
I just ran an update after I saw what was going on with the eyes. And as far as I can tell everything is in the same folder.
I noticed that when I apply Jannika that there is a mask around the eye area before I add the skin. This seems weird to me since I have never had this happen with any other figure I have used.
Thank you for your help.

Contact the vendor directly if it isn't just your installation, that's what I suggest.
grichter posted Thu, 22 September 2011 at 8:26 PM
When you inject the morphs using 01-INJ-Jannika if you open the pz2 file in a text editor you will see that it does the following
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:!DAZ:Victoria 4:Deltas:Aiko 4:InjDeltas.FHMA4American.pz2"
That injects the A4 America Head morph into your character (v4)
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:Morphs:FK-Inj-Rem:Jannika:INJ-1Jannika.pz2"
That injects a custom morph created outside of Poser into (V4) (this is the head morph that I refer to is you don't spin the morph dials to create)
3.)
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:Morphs:FK-Inj-Rem:Jannika:INJ-1JannikaEyesC.pz2"
That injects the eye morphs that are custom created outside of Poser and can't be created by spinning dials
4.)
readScript ":Runtime:libraries:Morphs:FK-Inj-Rem:Jannika:INJ-1JannikaBrVis.pz2"
That injects the eye liner morphs that are custom created outside of Poser and can't be created by spinning dials
So you need to make sure in your main default runtime you have the Aiko4 morphs in the !Daz folder and during the install you put in a folder titled Morphs and a sub folder named FK-Inj-Rem and then a sub folder named Jannika the files INJ-1JannikaEyesC.pz2, INJ-1JannikaBrVis.pz2 and Jannika:INJ-1Jannika.pz2. Then from the Remove Morphs pz2 you also need to make sure you have files REM-1JannikaEyesC.pz2 and REM-1Jannika.pz2 in the same folder referenced above for the remove morphs function to work.
So the question is where are these last files located in relation to your !Daz folder which holds your V4 and A4 morphs form Daz? It would appear the eye moprh was not applied. If you select V4's head do you see at the bottom of the perameters pallet under the heading Injection channels then community the Jannika with a dial set to 1.000 and a dial for the iris and 2 for the nose and then look back up under Morphs | Shapes under Aiko 4 the dial American set to 0.500?

The is becuase the eyebrows are not painted on the face texture but are what is commonly referred to as transmap brows. Normally the eyebrow under the head is hidden on most character skins. This one it is not so you can change the color of the brows to match the characters hair color or use differnt shaped eyebrows. Look under the Mats folder and eyes and youwill see at the bottom of that library a lot of different shapes of brows and colors you can select.

Hmm this is all a little over my head. I do not know how to use the text editor to open the pz2 file in a text editor. Nor do I know how to readscript.
My file location is
Efrontier>Poser 7>Runtime>Library>!DAZ>Victoria 4>Delta
Sorry I am still very new to this.
Again many thanks for your time and help.

Becky, do you have aiko installed?
MagnoliaMoonElf posted Thu, 22 September 2011 at 10:44 PM
yes
She is showing in my library. I actually installed it to use this figure. But I must have done something wrong.
Let me ask this. I did apply some V4 morphs as well to her. I am wondering if you cannot use V4 ++ morphs with Aiko (and or Jannika)
I have never use Aiko 4 Morphs until I now. And I am wondering if that could have cause the problem.
MagnoliaMoonElf posted Thu, 22 September 2011 at 11:01 PM
One more question, do you need to put Aiko 4 Characters in the V4 folder???
Maybe that is the problem. I am not sure.

You can use all of the V4 morphs and the A4 morphs in one character with no issues. But that just consumers resources. Load what you need. I apply Jannika to V4 which was updated by the daz updater which is the confusing part for new users. It should have put a link on your desktop that you run or as part of the install the last step was update the character.

No, not required. I have a V4 runtime and an A4 runtime and a SP4 runtime, which all work from the original V4 character.

Going back to my first question when you navigate to the body part head do you see the Aimerica morph set to 0.500 after you have clicked on the Jannika injection pose file?

I will try this as soon as I can. :0)
I didn't fully understand about that setting. I had set it at 0.005 when you mentioned this which I now realize was wrong.
many thanks!!!

I remember I had once this problem in the past with some morphed characters of V4.
Do you have several Runtimes ? in that case all V4 Base, morphs++, Aiko4, Elite files etc should be only in one runtime, check each runtime.
The best thing to do is to remove the Runtimelibraries!DAZVictoria 4 folder and reinstall in the following order V4.2 Base, Morphs ++, Aiko4 . And if you have Elite, the Girl, Stephanie4 or Reby Sky you have to also reinstall them.
To proceed safely, just rename the Victoria 4 folder something like Victoria 4_OLD
Then launch each installer in the right order, the trick is to paradoxically choose the DAZ Studio target application because if you choose Poser the installer will not allow to specify custom folders.
We are going to save all the installed new files on a temporary folder we're going to create. So create a folder anywhere you want, name it V4 for example. After choosing the DAZ application target, select an installation path and it will be the new V4 we have created. Be sure to initialize V4 at the end of installation and do the same for the morphs++, Aiko4 etc....
On this V4 folder simply copy the Runtimelibraries!DAZVictoria4 folder on your Runtime where the old Victoria 4 was.
Now go back Poser and check if the problem was solved or not. If it's OK you can remove the Victoria 4_OLD folder and also the temporary V4 folder created.
If not or worse, then delete the new Victoria 4 folder and rename the old as it was before. And in that case I don't know what can be the problem.

This is where I have found the files.
A4 head and body ___Program filesEfrontierPoser7RuntimeDaz's Victoria4morph injections
Delta____Program filesEfrontierPoser 7Libraries!DAZVictoria 4
One thing I just thought about. I have a file called my 3d content ____ this is where I install all my content such as character morphs( jannika, etc) clothing, poses etc.
The files are set up for each figure , their poses and clothing etc.

I have just set Jannika under community set to 1 and Aiko 4 set t 0.500 now.
So far all looks good, except when I apply the hair, when it renders it is not as thick and beautiful as it is when I use poser 7. I must be doing something wrong there , I had this happen to me in a previous render and never got it to look right.
Thank you for your help and patients with this old woman. I very much appreciate you taking the time to explain this to me.

grichter posted Sun, 25 September 2011 at 7:38 PM
Glad you got it working.
Keep in mind that The A4 american head morph increases the head size and you can either adjust the hair if it has the correct morph or use the scale dials and or use the V4 head size dial and make it smalled but you will probably still have to tweek the scale dials of the hair. Light, shadows settings and renders settings play a huge part in how transmapped hair comes out. There have been a zillion debates on this and if you look at the hair products and or add on textures packs they can be very different in how they are handled in the material room.

I don't see any problems in that pic. But then I'm even newer here at this stuff then you are.
Still, I don't see any problems with the hair or her eyes. Looks good to me.
MagnoliaMoonElf posted Tue, 27 September 2011 at 9:40 AM
Actually the hair is suppose to touch the ear and the bangs on the models right side looks as though the hair needs to be fitted better. Almost as if it needs to turn or be scaled larger. But when I do move it or scale it I still have the same problem.
I will have to post a larger render so you can see better what is going on.
Thanks for your comments.
grichter posted Tue, 27 September 2011 at 10:01 AM
Go to the head section of V4 and select the American head morph dial and spin it down to zero and back to .5 and you can see how with this morph the characters head does get larger. You either have to use the matching morph in the hair, or scale to fit. If the hair loads as a figure and not a prop, and you have a recent version of Poser under the parametrs pallet you can select to add morphs on conform option and that will size the hair automatically if and only if the hair has the morph built in.
