Hi,
Was wondering if there was a script available that would create a conforming figure (CR2) by converting a prop (PP2 or HR2) ?
thanks,
Andrew

Theoretically you could do that with the wardrobe wizard, IIRC.
Which kind of prop do you have in mind? What exactly do you plan to do?

Hi bantha,
I want to convert hair props to conforming figures, so that I can autofit them to Genesis in DS4.
regards,
Andrew

If you have the CCT you can use the transfer utility to convert prop hair to Genesis

Had to scroll up to the top of the page: yep, says Poser forum. I rather think that the OP would prefer a Poser-based solution. But I might be wrong.

WW does not have Genesis support so it won't do you much good.
The only script I know that will turn an obj into a cr2 is PhilC's Obj2Cr2 script but again, when it comes to Genesis, it's a no go.
Poser can't read DSF or DS native format files and there is no geom file or cr2 file like there were for previous figures.
As stated above, you could buy DAZ's CCT's. If you don't have one of the upgrade paths, the full CCT's will cost you $200. Or you could buy DS4Pro.

Bejaymac - I do not have CCT, that is part of DS4 Pro. I only have DS4 Advanced.
icprncss2 - I don't think you understand. What does or does not have Genesis support is not the issue. DS4's Autofit plugin allows you to fit Poser conforming figures to Genesis, so all I need is what I asked for originally.

Not sure if it's still the same in newer versions, but in P6 you can convert a prop into a figure very quickly.
In P6 all you do is load the prop hair into an empty scene, then select 'setup', you'll get a warning about opening a prop in the setup room and another if there are morphs in the prop, click yes on both, once it's loaded into the setup room just go back to 'Pose', you'll get another warning (click yes again). You now have a figure in the scene rather than a prop, now it's just a case of saving it back to the Figure Library.
The resulting .cr2 does work with Auto-fit as I've just tried it ;)

Thanks, Bejaymac. I tried this with the BillyHawk Hair by Neftis for M4.
It "sort of" worked. I noticed that it lost all of its morphs, and even though it was for M4, it no longer seemed to fit M4.
I also tried loading it up to Genesis in DS4, it didn't fit properly and the Autofit prompts did not come up.

Parent the hair to the head then adjust scaling, translation and any adjustment morphs till it fits as close as possible. Finally apply the Smooth Modifier. As you've already found auto-fit strips out morphs so I never use on hair even conforming hair.
