In the hierarchy window, there are tons of these, I dont remember seeing them before... when I click on v4, then on props, I also see tons of these... call me silly, but... what is their purpose?

If you're seeing more than one per figure, then something is wrong. For an explanation of what a CoM is for, look up "Auto Balance" in the manual.

well I used to get 3-4 of them creep in during figure development for some reason. I used to just edit them out of the Cr2. not sure why I kept getting them... but I didn't get any huge problems.

So in other words, these are showing up in just 2012 or no?  I dont know what they are for, I just find seeing them all rather annoying. shrug

They have been there since Poser 7, maybe earlier.

They can be really helpfull when posing and animating figures.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

They have been there since P6. Not sure I fully understand what is happening, but I think that every time a figure is loaded a new GoalCenterOfMass and CenterOfMass is added to the figure. If the figure is repeatedly sesaved and reloaded, you end up with shed full of these. As I never use Auto Ballence, I concidder them to be useless pieces of crap. Like Khai-J-Bach I just edit them out.
