Poser 9 simply will not install for me.  My desktop is running windows xp pro w/service pack 3.  I'm not at my desk so I can't remember my graphics card but I've not seen this problem in any other program.

I load the (correct) disc and when I choose "Install" it simply hangs.  Nothing works, nothing will shut down, I literally have to do a hard shut down.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

Hi

Try running "Install Poser 9.exe" from the Installers folder on the disk in Windows Explorer instead of Install from the pop up window.

You can also try and install it in Safe Mode, this may stop some other application that is conflicting with the installation Program.

You could also put in a ticket, with Smith Micro, I've has several issues and they have been very good about getting back to me quickly.

Yeah, I made sure its not the Mac disc.  I tried exploring the disc to open it from the folder too.  Same issue.  I like the idea of safe mode.  I tried installing several times before updating to the windows service pack 3 (which was a major pain in the arse) as well as after.   I'll try that next.  Thanks.

Can you copy the files to your hard drive into a folder and run all the .exe's from there?

I had the same problem when installing Pro2012 and Kaspersky on my new computer so I copied the files to the hard drive and it worked. Don't know what the problem was, possibly the dvd drive not fast enough.

No idea what caused it but safe mode worked.  Thanks!
