We're not going to include the native Poser figures in this one - only other human/humanoid figures you've bought/gotten free separately. I'll name all mine (IF I can remember em all)
the Zygote/Daz fairy
the Zygote/Daz gremlin
the Zygote/Daz Knight
Grim
The Freak and Freak 4
SheFreak 3 and 4
David (3)
Stephanie and Stephanie 3 Petite
Luke and Laura
The Millennium Kids
Millenium Preschoolers
Millennium Baby 3
The Daz Elf
Vicky 1, 2, 3, 4
Mike 1, 2, 3, 4
Aiko 1, 3, 4
Hiro 3, 4
Mavka
Antonia
Angela (Mankahoo's Angela) and Ang 2
Koshini
Krystal
Kali and Kelm
Kena
Malik
Eepo
Hein
Mask da's Doll
Kururu
Rosy Cheeks Lina
Deco, Maybe and Decoco
Elle
Neftoon Guy
Apollo Maximus (I actually bought him)
The Girl and Girl 4
Maya Doll
Miki 1
Sara
Alexa
Dina
Natalia
Laroo
Kalypso (remember that one?)
Z3D Ayame and Kaedeco
Now, those are just the ones I remember (I counted 64!!). Oh, there are more...LOL. Think that's enough to keep me busy for awhile? I think ;).
That's the list off the top of my head and there may be some that I haven't got because I just don't remember anymore. I'm not certain I have Aiko 1 but I thought I bought her (and if I did she's AWOL). Anyway, there ya have it. And out of that list there are probably less than 5 that I use all the time. A damn shame and a waste of cash ;).

Yes, who needs all these figures?
You buy months of labor for the price of a Subway Sandwich around here because nobody needs this stuff.
I have too many figures to list and several projects involving original figures.

I only have what came with Poser 8. I don't need anything else right now, and if I do, I'll probably try to create it myself.

Your list is significantly more extensive than mine, but your point is well made, Laurie. However, I'm one of those weird people who asks herself "wha' happened? Why did that must-have figure suddenly find herself staring with loathing at the girl I'd go back to?" Not gonna try to answer that one but there is one opportunity I do see here! You see, I aspire to learn rigging from the master himself - and these figures are going to be re-rigged!!!

They are so many that i cant count them all (yes i can but im not going to).
I dont mind the quantity as I see every one of those models as small pieces of art that someone put hard work into, and they are a part of my collection of 3d humanoids.
I can buy a model that I never use, no problem with that. But.. I buy the model because I think its god craftmanship/piece of art and I admire that.

I have only really been interested in realistic figures so far. Let me see:
Apollo
Aiko 3 and 4 (hardly used)
Stephanie 3 and 4
David 3 and 4
Hiro 3 and 4 (hardly used)
Mike 2, 3 and 4
Vicky 1, 2, 3, 4
Miki 2
Mankahoo's Angela
Antonia
Polly Gon
Laura
Luke
Daz Pre-Schoolers
Daz Pre-teens
Maddie and Matt
Kids 4
Milbaby
Kez
Kelvin
Koji
Jessi G2
James G2
Olivia
(I included the last 5 G2 figures because they did not actually come with Poser).
That's a lot of figures. I have all the ultimate head morphs from RDNA for my G2 figures and for Miki 2, and this makes them very versatile and morphable indeed. I also have a lot of clothes because I don't render nudes. I enjoy making clothes, shoes and hair myself, and I am beginning to have fun making face textures. I enjoy making face morphs in Blender using the sculpting tool, and it is easy.
As far as textures for V3 and V4 go, I have more than I can ever use. A good texture for any male figure is always welcome though.
Figures I am interested in right now: Little One, Angela 2, Miki 3 and Brad. But I don't feel any desperate hurry.
I am interested in using the MakeHuman figure in Poser Pro 2010, and weightmapping it. I think Makehuman is awesome!

It's so frustrating I avoid the place like the plague. And it's been like that for years too....sheesh. Not sure if it's Firefox specific or not. But until they fix, I avoid ;)

This doesn't list the hybrids and custom versions of existing figures, such as AnAn, Ms Olympia etc. I've also got lots of robot figures, creatures and animals.
Needless to say - but I'll say it anyhow - I have an impressive collection of Daleks, including my own builds, Mechmaster's, Billy-Home's and a few others from here and there.
For the uninitiated, Daleks are most emphatically not robots. They are mutant squid like creatures (Kaleds, or Kals) with a very bad attitude, living inside an environment tank/assault vehicle, known as a "Travel Machine". They have a symbiotic relationship with the environment tank, and the combination of creature and machine is known as a Dalek. But I digress. :)
Fifty chuffing eight! Do I use them all? Do I bollocks. I don't even know why I got many of 'em. I guess they'll come in useful some day.

I have a few. Several, in fact. I've only done all this since 2005, I think.
Most of them occupy space on my hard drive in a zip, atm. Who do I use? V4. Used to use V3. Going to use Antonia a fair bit now - I see her as much in Blender as I do in poser atm  but I'll be rendering after playing with morphs and hair and dynamic cloth a bit more.
I own the older Millenium figures just like I own the figures that came with Poser but they are still in their zips. Recently acquired Mariko. Not too long ago got Terai Yuki 2 - I was sort of interested in what they were doing with 3D Manga, but then figured out the renders I was seeing probably weren't done in Firefly.
I actually find manga and related dolls and stuff mildly disturbing. I was curious but got over it. I mean, some of it is really cute, but there's something really "makes-me-feel-uneasy" about cosplay and all that ... not sure why, just does.
So, I stick with allegory and projection. Probably just my version of manga, really... who knows.

I've already done this list several times, so I'll just say I started collecting when I got P4 and before Vickie had seen the light of day, and leave it at that. There are a few outre figures that got away, but not many. And that doesn't include the customized figures, like Thorne's, that are built on one of the older meshes. And still work quite well. And I do use other than the latest V figure; it is a damned sight easier to do that than it is to try and morph a Vickie to no longer look like a Vickie (well, except for V1; I still have all of traveler's morphs from morphworld, so....). And when you don't want or need a Micheal, pretty much the options are Apollo of the Poser males....nearly all of whom work in the decent to well category.
I may move the older figures into the midground or background, but after buying them -and- their content, I'd be a fool not to use them. I need all sorts of actors, and this is my list......

Oh, hell - I won't even bother with a list. There's too many in there. Most haven't seen daylight for years. Combined, the runtimes weigh in at 110 GB, not counting the archived stuff, which is somewhere around an additional 120GB or so uncompressed. By the by, ever since I split runtimes out for specific figures, this whole content management thing has gotten quite easy to do.
I still enjoy and use some of the really odd figures - Terai Yuki, Kururu, and such. Even the old Yuki/V2 mash-up is fun to mess with once in awhile. OTOH, the really off-the-wall ones (Neftoon, Alexa, Nude Young Woman, and DinaV) will likely never see the light of day again... or they might.

There is a contest / challenge at poser place where you have to use Non Daz3D characters. I'm determined to use some of my runtime, that I've never used much, but finding appropriate items to fit these figures in, is what's so hard. If possible I'd love to work as many of my different figures into one image.

I had tons of Action Man gear and one of the things all my friends and I would do is set all the stuff out, as if for some improbable military mission. Hard to imagine something that'd need a space capsule, a jet ski, mountaineering gear, inflatable boat and explosives. Oh hold on, that's a basic James Bond plot. :)
Which makes me think, how about trying a render for each figure with all the stuff specific to that model also in there? Not necessarily using the stuff, although I guess you'd get some amusement out of Victoria 2/3/4, looking through a wardrobe full of dresses, shoes, undies, scuba gear, space suits and the like. I guess some of the pics would be fairly simple; for example, I have only the stuff that came with some models, such as F202.
Some of the stuff I have, I say to myself "What the hell was I thinking when I bought that?" Then again, Batlab's kit is generally worth getting and his freestuff is legendary. I think I ran out of steam with the Fighting Sweeper, though. I could not for the life of me think of a time I'd need to render that particular outfit.

I had about 50 Barbies, Skippers and various Dawn dolls when I was a kid...lol. Collecting dolls is nothing new ;).
Hmmm....if I only had those dolls now. They're worth real money, especially the Dawns :D
Oh, and I agree...Batlabs was one of my faves ;). Too bad things change. Oh well.
And sometime we should have a challenge "Old figures only" LOL.

I think I have them all, but I don't use a lot of them anymore.

Creepy was a figure created by the late Don Tatro for Poser.

Here's a concept - how many are considering this? Instead of trying to make one figure be 40 gazillion different people via character morphs, let's say we use the figures to their potential as Characters.
Novel idea? Sheesh, this is the perfect climate to start LOOKING at these figures for what we were originally seduced by... and making it happen, instead of say: "nah, won't work".
We have SSS... we have weightmapping... we have a guru who will teach us proper rigging! Don't you agree that these skills and features can breathe new life into those dusty, once treasured figures?

I'm with you Robyn. Since I have so many figures, I treat them as characters and cast them in roles that are appropriate for them when I set up a scenario. Rerigging and weightmapping the older characters will work, I am sure of it.

A Stretch Armstrong, the Six Million Dollar Man Action figure, and a couple of Transformers. Usually collected model aircraft.

Dude - that would require three computers running in parallel, and about 5 years of time that I really have no desire to spend on it.

As they say in other contexts, Kimberly, it's not what you have, it's what you do with it!
you have a point lol

@ Peng. You're probably right. Maybe in a couple of years we'll all have computers that'd do it without even trying.

Heh.
I've already been experimenting with shader enhancement on Natalia and Dina. Mariko comes with a honking shader assembly, but I intend to try out BB's and see how it compares. Results are looking a bit interesting, but nothing I'd call acceptable just yet; more a matter of finding the right size for the base texture map, and dealing with burned in speculars and highlights. Probably replacing the bases are going to be the way to go. The thing most needed from the old days is going to be re-rigging (to some extent) the meshes, as there were compromises forced and issues created. Plus geometry switching was used in several older meshes. And in many cases, new eyes. What is there simply shows its age when you start adding true SSS to the skin; plus the geometry simply isn't there to do things with shaders.

No I do not have too many figures, I just do not have enough time to use them all. Or enough money to devote to Poser to buy more!!!
