Well can it? Or can a similar feature be implemented? It really is an impressive feature...

Doesn't poser physics do that? Its been around for years.
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

Poser has had collision detection for years, not sure how it compares to the DS version. Personally, I find it adds more overhead to the system than it's worth and I just do it by eye in instances where it matters if two objects touch..

Poser has a collision detection system, but that's something else entirely than the DAZ collision detection. The DAZ system is a poke-trough prevention, which you can start if the clothes don't fit properly. No, Poser does not have that, collisions between conforming cloth and the body aren't fixed automatically, you will have to use the morph brush for that. Or you would simply make the poking body parts invisible, which makes sense anyway with really tight clothes.
Poser's collision detection is for solid objects only, not for fixing cloth.

Well, the DS collision detection sounds pretty cool if it works as described and doesn't bog down the system. I wish Poser did APTP (automatic poke-through prevention)!

Someone had a video of it on youtube, it seems really good and I'd love to see something like that in Poser.

Poser has better system since P5 - cloth room.

Poser collision detection will either show the points of collision or prevent them but I believe it moves the entire bodypart.
Ockham had a script NOPOKE which would fix pokethrough on a vertex basis. You could see if it works for your case. www.ockhamsbungalow/python

Wardrobe Wizard included in Poser from version 8 has a "Fix Poke Through" tool.
