I'll be working on a figure, rendering every once in a while to check it, then without any reason, the figure will not render. All I get is the background - no figure - and no matter what I do I can't get it to render again. I've saved and shut down. Restarted the program. Restarted my computer. What the heck is going on?
This has happened with several different figures in the last two days.
Any help will be appreciated.

Are you saying that you can see the figure in Preview, but it vanishes when you render it?
Have you tried selecting a different standard render setting to see if that changes anything.
I.e. set Firefly to final render in the Auto Settings panel and see what happens.
Maybe some setting got changed someplace that stops the figure from showing (I don't know what that could be).

If you shoot a mime, do you need a silencer?

I wouldn't recommend change render settings to final, it could present major time related render issues. If restarting the app or computer does not solve the problem, check your character settings. Using raytracing in the render and having visible in raytracing unchecked on the character will render no figure. Could you provide some screencaps?

The "visible in raytracing" will not affect visibility, it just leaves object out of ray tracing calculations.

Ah, come to think of it, that is true. My bad for not keeping that in mind.
