You can post your images in the forum; just use jpeg format.
Looks like gamma correction is on in your render settings.
wimvdb posted Sat, 17 December 2011 at 3:10 PM
Turn off Gamma Correction in your render settings
Adjust your lights to make use of Gamma Correction (do a search for GC in this forum and you will find loads of threads about it)
bagginsbill posted Sat, 17 December 2011 at 3:16 PM
It's not lights per se. It's the shader.
Practically every V4 skin vendor copied the same shader over and over. It has a blue tint as a multiplier in the diffuse color. When GC is on, that tint becomes a much more saturated and darker blue - resulting in a massive removal of the red component, instead of a modest one.
Your choices are:
pretend you do not have Poser Pro and render like it's regular Poser, no GC.
stop using those shaders - fix them
You can keep using the textures, but you have to learn to stop using vendor-supplied shaders that are not aware of GC techniques.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

This is a PP2012 render of P6 James, using a shader that is built on scatter.
I published this shader at RDNA, and I see a few products in the market that use it or similar now. But you can load it for free.

Very soon, I think, snarlygribbly will be releasing EZSkin or something like that. It is a script that will apply the style of shader you want on any texture/figure by a simple click of a button. I think it will be free. Watch for it.
Meanwhile, you could also look into my VSS.

That render looks so good.. I have your VSS for poser 8 would that work in poser pro?
nobodyinparticular posted Sat, 17 December 2011 at 3:55 PM
Thank you for once again pointing this out. Will be trying out VSS, and looking forward to EZskin. Just bought a new character and believe it or not, it had scatter and blinn. Very nice.
However, when I turned on the hardware shading, the tongue and teeth lit up like a Christmas tree. A very small amount of ambient in both. Remove and a very nice character results.
The new Poser must be quite a challange for the veterans. Have to rething a lot of old ways. After a few months of using PP2012, I was playing around with Poser 8 today. What a world of difference. I plan on putting that on my laptop, as PP2012 specs. too robust for my budget.

EZSkin will be released for free on Wednesday, to coincide with the Antonia Christmas Giveaway at Poser Place.
Once it's been released at Poser place, I'll post links to the download here as well.
It's heavily based on the shaders posted in public fora by the likes of BagginsBill, Anthanasius, Carodan et al., but provides a simple (almost) one click way of upgrading existing texture sets to use their ideas.
According to the EZSkin testers it's easy to use and produces great results, but I'd still recommend getting hold of VSS too. I still use VSS extensively as it's far more versatile than EZSkin. However, if you just want to load an existing texture set and have an SSS version ready within a few seconds, EZSkin may still be useful to you!

That's an impressive list right there :) Will there be any settings for a more "plastic" look for toons like the one vincebagna previewed on one of the RDNA threads?

Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

If you have not seen the hundreds of images and dozens of shaders I posted at RDNA from PP2012, get over to this forum:
http://www.runtimedna.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?273-Poser-9-Pro2012-Demos-and-Tutorials
The James S+B shader, demonstrated above, is from this thread in that forum:
http://www.runtimedna.com/forum/showthread.php?64789-Which-node-SubsurfaceSkin-or-Scatter-Blinn
I posted the material, and then an updated version later - the updated one is ready to load in VSS. It is in post #42 on page 3.

Anthanasius posted Mon, 19 December 2011 at 5:28 AM
Lol it's to you to change the texture map by browsing your runtime ...

You load that material into the VSS control prop, and should not have any image map in it. It should be set to "none". Then use VSS to have it apply with your existing image maps that are on the figure, as usual.
