In Vue 7 infinite, Mac OS 10.6.8, if I select an object and duplicate, the object and its duplicate both shift to some offset point. This happens whether or not I have the 'offset duplicated objects' and/or 'center Vue objects when loading' setting set in preferences. Similarly if I merely copy the object without even pasting it, the original object shifts to some offset; I can't even undo the shift in this case and have to re-open the view file.
The best workaround I've come up with is that subsequent duplicates behave properly. That is, if I dupe once, the object and its dupe move; if I dupe again, all objects stay in place, which is the expected behavior based on my settings.
I think the same problem occurs when I use the Replicate function: the initial replication ignores my pivot point settings, but if I replicate again using one of the replicated objects, it uses my pivot point settings.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Is there a good workaround?
Thanks for your help,
LH

Are you using: Ctrl + D, Cmd + D on the MAC to Duplicate?
Ctrl + D for me sets in the same place as does the Replicator Menu up at top of the work window if I have a no value in any of the boxes.

Yes I use Cmd+D to duplicate. The problem is still occuring in varying degrees (might depend on the scale of the objects).
What do you mean when you say 'no values in any of the boxes'? Do you mean I can only dupe correctly if the object is at the scene's origin with default scaling?

I have had a similar problem with duplicating shapes in Vue8Frontier...found if I copied and pasted the object it stayed in exact same position as the original.
