The Windows update won't run on my XP system.  Security error.  First time this has happened.  At least one of the fixes mentioned is for me, though (had to report it to them three or more times until fixed).  They didn't put a Mac file under their Windows download link again did they?

The update run well on my Win7. Maybe a corrupt download or problem with Virus scanner. I can see and download the Mac file, no problem here.

I got it to run.  e-on has a skeleton crew as it is already.  Now it is Christmas time.  I figured I'd try letting my Internet cache clear out first for windows to run the update.  The patch does contain a fix I've been asking for since version 9, so that is good.  Finally had someone else report it to them since I'm on e-on's hate list for years.  The bug got fixed the next day.  Ha ha.  I'll have others report bugs for me that need fixing still.

I am glad you found a solution. I don't think e-on hates you ;-)

They do.  Build 10008456 breaks eco-painted tree colors in render thumbnails.  So someone else will have to report the bug to e-on for a fix.

Dropping a regular tree into an eco-painted forest triggers the bug.

You mean that result: It looks like lowRes OpenGL trees without textures in preview. :(

Hey I found a new game "Where is the Red Maple Tree?" :)

I have uninstalled build 10008456, so I can't test for it. But I assume that the "reverting more than one object back into instances" bug has been fixed, and that the fix introduced this render bug in the process.

Talking about Vue 10 bugs, does anybody experience the strange behaviour exhibited by the above image (i.e. the color map applied along the x and not z axis of the terrain)?

It appears also on my 9.5 copy while everything is OK on my 9 copy.

It is not show stopper, just really perplexing.

Shader 4 display?  Or hardware pipeline?  Lastest video driver?  Or two driver versions ago?  Video adapter set to use application preferences?  Or customized from default adapter settings?  Is your OpenGL a boring inclusion from your video driver install?  Or do you have a 3rd-party customized OpenGL installed?

You are right, it is likely some OpenGL problems that the newer Vue versions are triggering.

Well, I will keep my wierdly colored terrains (I am not going to risk killing my computer on a video driver update, nVidia forums are full of posts about troubles with driver updates for old cards like mine 9500GT).

Bye!!!

For me, older drivers work better with Vue using the hardware pipeline display method and leaving the adapter settings set to defaults.  I'm using ATI before AMD took over.

I have a feeling that build 10008360 will be the last update that I use for Vue 10 Inf.

I have to wait a few weeks still before that update is available to me.  The update after that one will have even more fixes that I told e-on about.  My goal is to get as many Vue bugs fixed as possible before e-on starts work on 10.5, since version 10 will be my last purchase from them (and I'd like to have a decent application from them that I can enjoy using).

The $ 195 for my maintenance plan are well invested. :D

I can't be throwing $195 at e-on repeatedly for new features I don't care much about, and for software with bugs (e-on doesn't even test for) that I have to tell them about.  I'm doing the quality control work for them "and" I have to pay them for more of the same?

Vue "Infinite" isn't at all so infinite, compared to other programs that I've used that can do the job and aren't even labled "Pro".
