Hello All.

I would like to know if there is a way to import an object from Cinema 4D R12 into Vue xStream 9 with the colors and textures retained.  I prefer to work with collada exported items because that way the various sub ojbects created in C4D are brought into Vue for further manipulation if needed.

So far, I am not able to bring in a collada exported file from C4D with the colors and textures. Because of this I'm having to try and apply colors and textures all over again to the objects in Vue with whatever library of textures I have for Vue.  It would be a real time saver if I could just import my objects the way they look in C4D with the same  colors and textures when I bring them into Vue.  Can this be done?

I'm quite puzzled because I did a very simple test of creating a single cube in C4D and colored it red then exported it in collada format and brought it into Vue and the same problem. The cub comes in but it has no color.

As another test I tried the "Riptide" plug-in and that actually worked. It kept the red color on the cube. The problem for me with using this plug-in is that the object is brought in as a .obj file which means all the sub-objects are gone so I won't be able to move or size any of the sub parts in Vue if I choose this option.

I later tried the native .obj export in C4d and that too has the same problem of losing the colors so what is going on here? How is it that the Riptide plug-in that is free or only $50 for registered version can keep the colors on .obj exports and yet this more than $1,000 product Vue I paid for can not! Perhaps I need a special plug-in to do the kind of imports I want from C4D? If so what is it?

Maybe there is a lot more involved to bringing in an object with its colors and textures into Vue than a a single file from C4D in collada format?

Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
